Position ObjectiveMach Energy Services is seeking a Chief Operating Officer to lead and scale operations across its rapidly growing self-performing construction and EPC platform. With approximately 850 employees and increasingly large, complex projects across EPC, Facilities, I&E, Utilities, Pipeline, and Integrity, Mach needs a proven construction operator who has already led through the level of scale and complexity the company is entering.Reporting directly to the CEO, the COO will own operational execution from estimating through project delivery, with responsibility for P&L performance, project controls, labor productivity, risk management, and operational consistency across multiple business units. This leader will serve as the critical connector between strategy, estimating, finance, and field execution while acting as the executive escalation point for major projects and client issues.The mandate is to replace personality-driven execution with scalable systems and disciplined operating rhythms—without losing the entrepreneurial, field-first culture that has fueled Mach’s growth.Who is Mach Energy Services?Founded in 2016 and headquartered in Oklahoma City, Mach Energy Services is a self-performing infrastructure contractor with approximately 850 employees and operations across Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and other major U.S. energy markets.Mach performs EPC, Facilities, I&E, Utility, Pipeline, and Integrity work and is entering a new phase of growth. The company is intentionally strengthening its operating foundation so it can scale without losing the entrepreneurial spirit, humility, and respect for the field that define its culture.The mission of Mach Energy Services is to build infrastructure while faithfully stewarding what God has entrusted—serving people, clients, and communities through disciplined execution and purpose-driven leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn Operational Execution, Estimating & Project Delivery – Lead the full project lifecycle from estimating through field execution, ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule, and within expected margins.Own P&L, Cash Flow & WIP Performance – Partner with Finance to drive rigorous WIP reviews, identify margin fade, underbillings, and cost overruns early, and improve forecast accuracy.Lead Project Controls & Risk Management – Strengthen contract discipline, cost-to-complete forecasting, backlog quality, change management, and escalation around major project risk.Drive Labor Productivity & Resource Planning – Forecast manpower needs, monitor labor performance, and allocate crews effectively across business units.Standardize Systems & Operating Discipline – Build repeatable SOPs, project controls, and management rhythms across the organization.Develop Leaders & Strengthen Culture – Build accountability and develop Business Unit Leaders, Project Managers, Superintendents, and field leadership.Bridge Strategy and Field Execution – Challenge major bids, align estimating assumptions with operational reality, and translate company strategy into execution.Skills & Experience NeededExecutive leadership experience within a self-performing construction contractor is required. Relevant backgrounds may include EPC, industrial, facilities/mechanical, I&E/electrical, utilities, power/T&D, heavy civil, pipeline, or specialty construction.Demonstrated experience leading a substantial operating business, region, or division at a scale comparable to or larger than Mach; $250MM+ in revenue responsibility and several hundred field employees is strongly preferred.Proven P&L ownership with accountability for margin, cash flow, forecasting, labor productivity, and operating performance.Deep project controls and commercial acumen, including WIP, cost-to-complete, backlog, change management, contract risk, underbillings, and margin fade.Experience managing large, complex construction projects with meaningful schedule, financial, and contractual risk.Proven ability to scale multi-business-unit operations while preserving entrepreneurial ownership and field credibility.Strong track record of developing operational leaders and building accountability across the organization.Formal education is not required; field credibility, operating scale, financial discipline, and demonstrated leadership outweigh formal credentials.
