Chief People Officer (CPO)Location: Brooklyn, NY — 100% Onsite; ~1x/week local NYC-metro travelEmployment Type: Full-TimeSeniority: ExecutiveAbout the OpportunityTalent Harbor has partnered with a fast-growing behavioral health and social care organization operating across multiple healthcare entities in New York.The organization currently supports 100+ employees and 500+ contractors, with 2–3 additional entities expected to be integrated over the next 12 months.We’re looking for a Chief People Officer to build and lead the HR function as the organization scales.The RoleThis is a true build-not-maintain leadership opportunity. You’ll own people strategy and HR infrastructure across multiple entities, lead a team of 4 HR specialists, and establish the systems and processes needed to support continued growth.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and standardize HR infrastructure across multiple entitiesLead and develop a team of 4 HR specialistsDrive HRIS/payroll implementation and technology improvementsLead benefits strategy and consolidationStrengthen recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and employee relationsEnsure compliance with healthcare, employment, and NYS regulatory requirementsPartner with executive leadership on organizational development and workforce strategyHelp establish a consistent, high-accountability culture across the organizationWhat We’re Looking For8+ years of progressive HR leadership experienceVP HR, Head of HR, CPO, CHRO, or senior HR Director backgroundExperience in healthcare, behavioral health, home health, social services, or another highly regulated environmentProven experience building or scaling HR infrastructure during growthExperience supporting multi-site or multi-entity organizationsStrong knowledge of healthcare HR compliance, HIPAA/PHI, and employment practicesHands-on, autonomous leadership style with strong execution skillsComfortable working 100% onsite in Brooklyn with local travelPreferred: HRIS/payroll implementations, benefits consolidation, NYS healthcare compliance, M&A/integration experience, or EOS experience.Compensation & Benefits$190K–$230K base salaryTarget total cash compensation around $240K, including milestone-based incentivesHealth, dental, and vision benefitsUnlimited executive PTOFlexible holiday tradeWhy This Role?This is an opportunity to build the people function from the ground up and have a direct impact on the next stage of growth for a rapidly expanding behavioral health organization.If you’re an HR leader who enjoys building structure, scaling teams, and taking ownership in a fast-moving environment, we’d love to hear from you.Apply directly today or connect with Javier at Talent Harbor for a confidential conversation.
