INDUSTRY: Healthcare / Hospital & Pharmacy OperationsLOCATION: Colombo, Sri LankaCOMPANY: Lanka HospitalsEXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years of managerial experiencePACKAGE: LKR 400K - 500K GROSSPOSITION OVERVIEWLanka Hospitals is seeking an experienced and commercially driven Chief Pharmacist / Senior Manager – Pharmacy Operations to oversee pharmacy operations, business performance, and service excellence across multiple business segments, including in-station and outstation operations, pharmacy chains, and pharmacy stores.The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in pharmacy operations management, financial performance, Profit & Loss (P&L) management, team leadership, and operational planning. The role requires an experienced professional capable of managing multiple pharmacy business units, leading three managers, improving operational efficiency, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving sustainable business growth.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESOversee overall pharmacy operations and business performance across hospital-based pharmacies, outstation operations, pharmacy chains, and retail pharmacy stores.Manage and monitor Profit & Loss (P&L), revenue, operating costs, profitability, budgets, and financial performance across assigned business units.Develop and implement strategies to improve pharmacy sales, operational efficiency, cost management, and business profitability.Lead, supervise, and guide three managers responsible for different pharmacy business segments.Establish operational KPIs, financial targets, and performance monitoring mechanisms across all pharmacy units.Ensure compliance with applicable pharmacy regulations, licensing requirements, medication safety standards, and healthcare policies.Oversee inventory management, procurement coordination, stock availability, expiry management, and reduction of stock losses.Monitor pharmacy service quality, customer satisfaction, dispensing standards, and operational consistency across all locations.Analyse business performance reports, sales trends, financial results, and operational data to identify opportunities for improvement.Coordinate with hospital management, finance, procurement, HR, and other relevant departments to achieve business objectives.Drive process improvements, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and consistent operational standards across pharmacy outlets.Prepare and present business performance reports, P&L reviews, and strategic recommendations to senior management.Develop the capabilities of pharmacy managers and teams through performance reviews, coaching, and operational guidance.Support business expansion, operational planning, and growth initiatives across the pharmacy network.PRE-REQUISITESBachelor's degree in Pharmacy or a relevant professional qualification in Pharmacy, as applicable to the scope of the role.Minimum 5 years of managerial experience in pharmacy operations, hospital pharmacy management, retail pharmacy chains, or a related healthcare business.Proven experience managing overall pharmacy operations across multiple outlets, branches, or business units.Demonstrated experience in Profit & Loss (P&L) management, budgeting, revenue growth, cost control, and profitability improvement.Experience leading managers and overseeing multiple teams or operational functions.Strong understanding of pharmacy operations, inventory management, procurement coordination, and regulatory compliance.Excellent financial analysis, business planning, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and team development capabilities.Ability to manage multiple business segments and drive operational and financial performance.Experience in hospital pharmacy networks or established pharmacy chains will be an added advantage.
