Role DescriptionThe Chief Quality Officer / Chief Procurement Officer / Chief Experience Officer provides executive leadership for a distinct organisational function, aligning its strategy, resources, and performance with business objectives. These positions establish clear standards and accountability, strengthen organisational capabilities, and guide improvements that support reliable delivery, commercial value, and stakeholder trust.The position works closely with the Chief Executive Officer, executive leadership team, business-unit leaders, Finance, Operations, Technology, Legal, and relevant external partners. Responsibilities include defining functional priorities, overseeing budgets and leadership teams, evaluating performance, and directing major improvement programmes. The role advises executives on opportunities and risks within its remit, establishes governance arrangements, and ensures that strategic decisions translate into measurable operational outcomes.For Chief Quality Officers, the emphasis is on quality strategy, management systems, assurance, and prevention of recurring failures across products or services. Chief Procurement Officers lead sourcing strategy, supplier relationships, purchasing governance, and supply resilience. Chief Experience Officers shape the customer experience across products, services, and channels, using customer insights to improve journeys and organisational practices. Across these positions, the role develops leaders, coordinates change across functions, and maintains accountability for sustained performance.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Quality Management, Supply Chain Management, Marketing, Customer Experience, or a field relevant to the position.A relevant postgraduate qualification, professional credential, or advanced executive leadership training is an advantage.Significant progressive leadership experience in quality, procurement, customer experience, or the relevant executive discipline.Proven ability to define functional strategy, establish priorities, allocate resources, and deliver measurable organisational improvements.Experience leading senior managers, developing leadership capability, and coordinating initiatives across complex organisations.For Chief Quality Officer positions, experience overseeing quality management systems, assurance programmes, audits, and corrective and preventive actions.Ability to analyse quality risks, investigate systemic failures, and strengthen process controls and continuous improvement practices.For Chief Procurement Officer positions, demonstrated experience leading strategic sourcing, category management, supplier governance, and commercial negotiations.Strong understanding of supplier risk, total cost of ownership, contract performance, responsible sourcing, and supply continuity.For Chief Experience Officer positions, experience developing customer-experience strategies and improving journeys across multiple channels and business functions.Ability to connect customer research, feedback, behavioural data, and service performance with prioritised improvement programmes.Strong financial and commercial acumen, including budgeting, investment evaluation, and assessment of benefits and trade-offs.Experience establishing governance, performance measures, escalation processes, and executive reporting appropriate to the function.Ability to lead organisational change and build productive relationships with executive colleagues, employees, customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.Excellent strategic judgement, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with integrity and clear accountability for decisions and results.
