Chief Security OfficerAbout the RoleThe Chief Security Officer will report directly to the Digicel Pacific Group Chief Risk Officer and will be responsible for setting the security strategy, operating model, governance framework, incident response approach, security assurance program and third-party security provider oversight. The role will focus on risk mitigation measures, with success measured by risk avoidance, not just reactive response.The incumbent will be accountable for leading Digicel PNG’s enterprise security function, protecting people, assets, network infrastructure, sites, information, operations and reputation across a high-risk operating environment.As part of the enterprise Risk, Compliance and Security operating model, the Chief Risk Officer will work closely with HSSE, Technology, Operations, Legal, People, Procurement and Telstra stakeholders to manage security risk across Digicel PNG.Key Responsibilities:1. People and Physical SecurityAccountable for ensuring the safety and security of employees, contractors, customers, and visitors across all Digicel PNG sites, including its network sites.Oversee physical security for Digicel PNG sites and facilities, including its offices, technical facilities, towers, data centres, retail outlets, and other critical infrastructure.Lead executive protection and travel security in PNG where required, including in respect of designated Telstra Group representatives visiting or working for or with Digicel PNG.2.Operational Security ManagementDirect day-to-day security operations, including guard force management, access control, surveillance, and incident response.Lead crisis management, emergency response, and business continuity support from a security perspective.Accountable for ensuring effective investigation, reporting, and remediation of security incidents.Lead or support supplier-related investigations in partnership with Telstra Investigations, Procurement, Legal, Risk and Compliance, including allegations of misconduct, control failures, fraud, unethical conduct, security breaches or non-compliance with supplier obligations.3.Security Intelligence and Threat ManagementEstablish security intelligence capabilities, including threat monitoring, analysis, and early warning mechanisms.Maintain active intelligence sharing relationships with industry peers, regulators, and enforcement agencies.Anticipate and mitigate risks related to civil unrest, crime, fraud, sabotage, insider threat, civil disorder, infrastructure vandalism, network disruption and threats to personnel, sites and critical operations.Qualifications & Experience:Minimum Bachelor degree in Risk Management or Business Administration.Minimum 12–15 years’ senior security leadership experience, including expertise in enterprise security strategy, crisis management, third-party security provider governance, executive stakeholder engagement and experience operating in a high-risk or emerging-market environments.Demonstrated experience in operating in a telecommunications or critical infrastructure environment.Demonstrated experience in managing outsourced security providers, including contract performance, Service Level Agreement (SLA) delivery, assurance, conduct, cost control and remediation.Proven leadership in building teams, managing escalations, leading incident response, supporting crisis management and advising executives.Excellent investigative, problem-solving, judgement, communication and presentation skills, including experience supporting sensitive supplier, third-party or workplace-related investigations.Ability to manage team members, service providers and stakeholders across multiple locations in challenging environments.Applications are now open to suitably qualified and interested applicants.To apply, please submit your application to PNG.Recruitment@digicelpacific.comApplications close on Monday 21 September 2026.Please note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted for an interview.
