The company values integrity, innovation, and customer-centric solutions in all aspects of its operations.Role Description The Chief Security Officer (CSO) is a full-time remote role responsible for defining, implementing, and overseeing the overall security strategy for Digital Realty SAS. In this position, the CSO leads the development of security policies, standards, and procedures across physical, cyber, and information security domains, ensuring alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day activities include monitoring security posture, managing risk assessments, overseeing incident response, and coordinating remediation efforts with cross-functional teams. The CSO collaborates closely with executive leadership, IT, operations, legal, and compliance to evaluate emerging threats, recommend security investments, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The role also includes vendor and third-party security oversight, ongoing training and awareness for staff, and regular reporting on security performance and risks to senior management and the board.Qualifications Proven experience leading enterprise-wide security programs, including information security, cyber security, and physical security in a complex, technology-driven environment.Strong background in risk management, incident response, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning, with the ability to prioritize and mitigate security risks effectively.Deep familiarity with relevant security frameworks and standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, SOC, PCI DSS) and regulatory requirements affecting data centers and digital infrastructure.Demonstrated ability to build and manage high-performing security teams, foster collaboration across departments, and influence decision-making at the executive and board levels.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, including the ability to explain complex security topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Experience working in or with data center, cloud, telecommunications, or critical infrastructure organizations is highly beneficial.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) are an advantage.Ability to work effectively in a remote setting, manage multiple priorities, and operate with a high level of integrity
