Chief Technology Officer and Co-Founding Partner

This role does not pay a salary. It pays ownership. Please read that line twice before you read the rest.Who we areCheckers Inc. is an employee-owned cooperative based in Amman. We work in digital marketing, consulting, and creative services. We are owned by the people who do the work, and profit is shared with them rather than extracted from them.Gojo Systems is our technology arm. It builds apps, websites, SaaS products, and custom systems for clients in Jordan and beyond. It has work, it has clients, and it has a pipeline. What it does not yet have is a technical founder to own it.What we are offeringWe are not hiring an employee. We are looking for a co-founding partner who will run technology at Gojo Systems and own a real share of what they build.Equity: 25% of Gojo Systems, vesting at 5% per year over five years.Direct revenue share: 10% of every deal you bring in.Indirect revenue share: 5% of every deal brought in by anyone else.That means you start earning from the first invoice, not from a distant exit. You are rewarded for what you sell and for what the business sells around you, so growing the team pays you rather than diluting you. The revenue share is cash. The equity is the long game. Both are yours because you built them.On the legal structure, plainly: Gojo Systems currently operates as a business unit inside Checkers Inc. The objective is to formalize it as an independent subsidiary by the end of 2027 at the latest, and earlier if the numbers allow. Your equity is written against that entity and converts to registered shares on incorporation. We would rather tell you this now than have you discover it in due diligence.What you will doYou will own the technical side of the business end to end. That means architecting and building client solutions, choosing our stack and our standards, and deciding how we ship. You will scope and price technical work with the commercial team, and you will be in front of clients when the conversation gets technical.You will work closely with our CIO on both internal systems and client projects, current and future. This is a partnership, not a reporting line. If you prefer to work alone and hand over finished code without discussion, you will find this role frustrating.You will also build the team. As Gojo grows you will hire, train, and lead developers, and you will set the engineering culture they work inside. In a cooperative, that culture is not decoration. It is the product.What we need from youAt least five years of professional full stack development experience, with real production systems behind you rather than tutorials and side projects.You should be genuinely hands-on across the stack we work in: PHP, JavaScript, React, Flutter, MySQL, HTML and CSS, plus AWS and cPanel for deployment and server management. We care more about depth and the ability to pick up what is missing than about ticking every box.You should have shipped SaaS or cloud-based products to live users, and you should be comfortable designing a solution from a vague client brief rather than waiting for a spec. Arabic and English working ability is a strong advantage given our client base.Above all, you need the temperament for this. Founders build before they get paid. If you need a guaranteed monthly transfer to sleep at night, this is not your role, and there is no shame in that.Who this is not forThis is not for someone looking for a title. It is not for someone who wants equity on top of a salary. It is not for a freelancer looking for one more stream of income between contracts.
