Apply & track with Apply EdgeChief Technology Officer – AI PharmacistEquity Only | London, Greater London or Kent | HealthTech / AI / Digital PharmacyAI Pharmacist, developed by DrGuide.net, has now moved beyond the prototype stage. The product is live across desktop and mobile, has already supported 10,000+ users, and has proven that there is real demand for a simpler, faster and more direct way for people to access medicine information, safety guidance and personal medicine support. We are now looking for a Chief Technology Officer to join at founder level and help take AI Pharmacist from a strong working product into a serious, scalable health technology platform. This is an equity-only opportunity at this stage. It is best suited to someone who understands early-stage value creation, is comfortable building before salary, and wants to own the technical direction of a product with genuine global potential. The ProductAI Pharmacist is being built as a personal medicine management tool for the public, patients, carers, pharmacies and healthcare professionals. The current platform already allows users to ask medicine-related questions and receive fast, structured, practical answers. The next stage is far more ambitious: turning AI Pharmacist into a trusted personal medicine layer that can help users understand their medicines, manage repeat queries, identify risks, improve adherence and reduce unnecessary pressure on frontline healthcare services. The vision is not to create another generic chatbot. The vision is to build a focused, clinically intelligent, medicine-first AI system that can sit between the patient, the medicine, the pharmacist and the wider healthcare ecosystem. The RoleWe are seeking a CTO who can take ownership of the technology roadmap, architecture and product scalability. This is not a ceremonial title. The right person will shape how the platform is built, secured, governed, expanded and eventually commercialised. You will work directly with the founder to convert a live working product into a robust, defensible and investment-ready HealthTech company.Key ResponsibilitiesYou will lead the technical development of AI Pharmacist from its current stage into a scalable platform. This will include:Platform ArchitectureDesigning the long-term architecture for web, mobile, API, user accounts, medicine profiles, AI interaction history, safety logic and future integrations.AI Product DevelopmentImproving the AI experience so it becomes more clinically useful, more personalised, safer and more consistent across user journeys.Mobile and Web ScalingSupporting the continued development of desktop and mobile versions, with a strong focus on speed, usability and reliability.Data and User SystemsHelping build secure user profiles, medicine history, saved conversations, medication lists, reminders, alerts and personalised medicine support features.Clinical Safety and GovernanceWorking alongside clinical leadership to ensure the product is technically structured for safety, auditability, version control, disclaimers, escalation logic and responsible AI use.Technical RoadmapCreating a clear 3, 6 and 12-month development roadmap with measurable delivery targets.Team BuildingHelping recruit, manage or coordinate future developers, designers, AI engineers and technical contractors where needed.Investor ReadinessPreparing the technology side of the business for funding, partnerships, due diligence and possible institutional conversations.Commercial ScaleSupporting future B2C, B2B, pharmacy, clinic, employer, insurer and global health use cases.Immediate TargetsThe CTO will help define and deliver clear milestones, including:Turning the existing product into a more structured user-facing platform.Building secure user accounts and personalised medicine profiles.Creating a cleaner mobile-first experience.Developing repeat-use features such as medicine lists, saved answers and adherence tools.Improving answer quality, safety checks and medicine-specific logic.Preparing the platform for partnership, investment and regulated-sector credibility.Building a technical structure that can support UK and global users. What We Are Looking ForThe ideal CTO will have strong experience in one or more of the following:AI product developmentSaaS platformsMobile app developmentFull-stack engineeringHealthTech or MedTechAPI architectureCloud infrastructureSecurity and data protectionConsumer product designAI workflow designScalable start-up systemsHealthcare experience is valuable, but not essential. What matters more is judgement, technical seriousness and the ability to build something clean, safe and scalable. You should be comfortable working with a founder-led product where speed matters, but where clinical safety and user trust matter even more. The Right PersonThis role may suit someone who:Has already built serious digital productsWants to become a technical co-founder rather than just another employeeUnderstands that early equity requires patience and convictionCan think strategically but still build practicallyCan challenge weak ideas without slowing momentumIs interested in AI applied to real healthcare problemsWants to help create a product that could be used globallyWe are not looking for someone who only advises from the sidelines. We are looking for someone who can help build.LocationThe preferred candidate should be based in:LondonGreater LondonKentThis is because regular in-person founder-level meetings will be important during the next stage of development.Remote work is possible for much of the technical delivery, but this is not intended to be a distant advisory role.CompensationThis is an equity-only CTO opportunity at this stage. The exact equity structure will depend on experience, commitment level, technical contribution and the agreed roadmap. This should be viewed as a founder-level opportunity for someone who wants meaningful ownership in an early-stage AI HealthTech company. Why This MattersMedicine information is still fragmented, slow and difficult for ordinary people to understand.Patients often search online for ten minutes, read conflicting answers, misunderstand medicine risks, or wait unnecessarily for basic guidance that could have been delivered safely and instantly.AI Pharmacist is being built to change that. The aim is to make medicine guidance faster, clearer, safer and more accessible — not just in the UK, but globally. How to ApplyIf this sounds like the kind of company you would want to help build, please send a short message with:Your technical backgroundProducts or platforms you have builtAny AI, SaaS, mobile or HealthTech experienceYour locationWhy this opportunity interests youThis is an early-stage role, but the product is already live, used and validated. Now it needs the right CTO to help take it further.
