About the CompanyWe are representing a privaely-owned manufacturer with more than $1B in revenue and a multi-site operating footprint seeking a senior enterprise technology executive to lead company-wide IT, digital, data, cybersecurity, and enterprise systems.About the RoleThe role reports to the President and leads an organization of roughly 35 corporate IT employees, plus plant-level support resources. This is not a software-product CTO role and it is not a position focused only on keeping systems running. The person hired will help the executive team decide where technology should take the business over the next 3–5 years, while remaining accountable for the day-to-day operating model across ERP, applications, infrastructure, networks, cybersecurity, data and analytics, AI, service delivery, disaster recovery, vendors, budgets, and talent.ResponsibilitiesBuild and execute a 3–5 year enterprise technology roadmap tied to growth, margin, plant performance, supply chain, quality, customer commitments, and risk.Lead technology portfolio governance, investment prioritization, business-case development, CapEx/OpEx planning, and executive reporting.Own the enterprise applications portfolio across ERP, manufacturing systems, PLM, MES, EAM, HRIS, supply-chain platforms, integration, and related business systems.Oversee infrastructure, cloud, networks, end-user technology, service desk, ITSM, reliability, lifecycle management, and operating metrics.Own cybersecurity strategy and cyber resilience across enterprise and plant environments, including identity, incident readiness, vendor risk, and business continuity.Establish enterprise data ownership, data quality, governance, BI, reporting integrity, and the operating model required to support advanced analytics and AI.Guide practical adoption of AI and automation tied to measurable productivity, quality, decision-making, or cost outcomes rather than technology experimentation for its own sake.Lead ERP, PLM, MES, data, and other transformation programs through process design, implementation, training, adoption, and value realization.Build the IT leadership bench, clarify decision rights, develop existing talent, and create an operating model that delegates work through accountable leaders rather than the CIO becoming the escalation point for everything.Partner directly with the President, COO, CFO, Supply Chain, Operations, plant leaders, and functional executives to translate business priorities into technology decisions.Manage strategic vendors, managed-service partners, software providers, and outsourcing decisions with clear performance, cost, and service expectations.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or master’s degree preferred.Required Skills10+ years of progressively responsible technology leadership, including senior accountability for a broad enterprise IT portfolio.Experience leading technology in a multi-site manufacturing, industrial, consumer-products, packaging, food, equipment, or other physical-operations environment.Direct leadership across several of the following at the same time: ERP/business applications, infrastructure/cloud/networks, cybersecurity, service delivery/end-user technology, data/BI, AI/automation, and manufacturing systems.Evidence of building technology strategy with Presidents, CEOs, CFOs, COOs, or boards and translating that strategy into a sequenced roadmap, investment choices, and measurable business outcomes.Experience leading ERP or enterprise-system modernization where adoption and business-process change mattered as much as go-live.Experience managing director-level leaders, mixed internal/external teams, budgets, vendors, and service providers.Ability to communicate technology decisions in business terms: margin, throughput, labor, quality, inventory, customer service, resilience, risk, and return on investment.Preferred SkillsCurrent or prior CIO, VP IT, VP Information Systems, or equivalent ownership in a roughly $500M–$5B manufacturer.ERP experience with JD Edwards, SAP, Oracle, or comparable enterprise platforms; direct JD Edwards experience is useful but not required.MES, PLM, EAM, IT/OT convergence, plant connectivity, or manufacturing data experience.Supply-chain planning, warehouse, inventory, EDI, S&OP, or related operational systems experience.Data-governance and BI leadership followed by production AI or automation use cases with measurable business impact.M&A integration, application rationalization, vendor consolidation, or post-acquisition standardization.Experience in a family-owned, privately held, PE-backed, or decentralized operating environment where influence matters as much as hierarchy.This search is being conducted confidentially.
