The organization is committed to creating cleaner, smarter, and inclusive cities through sustainable transportation.Role Description The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in the Pune Division, responsible for defining and executing ZPROO’s technology vision across its ride-hailing platform and EV mobility ecosystem. The CTO will oversee end-to-end software development, product architecture, and technology operations, ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing systems that support subscription-based and on-demand services. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading engineering teams, setting technical roadmaps, aligning IT strategy with business goals, and collaborating closely with product, operations, and business stakeholders. The role includes managing technology projects, optimizing development processes, evaluating and implementing new technologies, and ensuring reliable platform performance and data security. The CTO will also build and mentor a high-performing tech organization, foster innovation, and support continuous improvement to enable sustainable urban mobility at scale.QualificationsCandidates should possess strong software development and product development skills, with experience building scalable, customer-facing platforms.Candidates should possess robust IT strategy and technology architecture skills to design and maintain resilient, secure, and future-ready systems.Candidates should possess effective project management skills, including planning, prioritization, and delivery of complex, cross-functional initiatives.Candidates should possess leadership and team management capabilities, with a track record of mentoring engineering teams and fostering collaborative cultures.Experience with cloud infrastructure, microservices, APIs, data security, and high-availability systems in a startup or high-growth environment is beneficial.Background in mobility, transportation, EV technology, or platform-based businesses is preferred but not mandatory.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
