Apply & track with Apply EdgeT3 Sixty has been retained by Brown Harris Stevens, a luxury real estate brokerage headquartered in New York City, to help them find their next Chief Technology and Information Officer.The Chief Technology and Information Officer (CTO | CIO) leads the company’s enterprise-wide technology and information systems strategy, with primary accountability for reliable, well-run IT operations across the Sales business divisions. This role oversees the company’s complete technology ecosystem, which includes infrastructure, software, and support, ensuring a stable, secure, and consistent experience for agents, staff, and customers.The CTO | CIO provides steady, hands-on leadership over technology integration and alignment across legacy systems, serving as a dependable operator the organization can rely on day to day. This executive will partner closely with the CEO, CMO, and other members of the leadership team to keep systems running smoothly, manage cost, and deliver consistent business value through technology.ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIESLead and execute the company’s technology roadmap, ensuring day-to-day operations align with business strategy and brand objectives.Oversee all IT operations, systems, infrastructure, software development, and digital platforms.Develop and implement technology integration plans to unify legacy systems and streamline operations.Collaborate closely with Marketing, Finance, and Operations leadership to enhance user experience and data connectivity.Build, mentor, and lead the technology team, fostering accountability, discipline, and collaboration.Direct all software development, infrastructure improvement initiatives, and vendor partnerships to ensure timely, high-quality delivery.Develop and manage the technology P&L and budget, ensuring responsible allocation and ROI.Establish and maintain cybersecurity protocols, risk management policies, and compliance standards.Negotiate vendor contracts, manage external service providers, and evaluate emerging technologies for business impact.Coordinate with the leader of the company’s separately operated commercial property management division, which functions outside the residential brokerage, on shared systems and infrastructure needs.Serve as a visible, trusted, and collaborative leader who bridges executive strategy with technical execution.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSBachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred)5+ years of executive-level technology experience in residential real estate or related industry5+ years of senior leadership experience, including direct team and P&L managementProven expertise in enterprise systems integration and operations managementStrong financial literacy and experience developing and managing technology budgetsDemonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams and managing large-scale technology initiativesExcellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skillsBased or has had relevant career experience in the New York tri-state area with current, first-hand knowledge of local market dynamics, or able to demonstrate active, up-to-date market knowledge together with a willingness to relocateWorking knowledge of the residential real estate industry, including agency representation practices and state-specific nuancesReal estate broker license, or comparable transactional experience and an understanding of deal structuring and industry legal and regulatory practice is a plusWillingness to work on-site a minimum of four days per week, consistent with the firm’s expectations for its senior leadership teamCANDIDATE PROFILEThe ideal candidate is a disciplined and dependable technology executive who provides steady, hands-on leadership rather than a product-driven or innovation-first agenda.
