Now build technology that changes how cities care for the roads people use every day. In Port Lavaca, Texas, public works leaders have used the platform in capital improvement budgeting; Alexandria, Kentucky, reports saving three weeks of road survey and data entry. This is a chance to work directly with the founder and turn that early impact into a lasting product.We are hiring for a company building the operating layer for the infrastructure cities maintain. Roads are the starting point: imagery, vehicle data, GIS records, engineering documents, and local knowledge become a living map of assets and their condition. Public works teams can use that evidence to plan capital, explain priorities, and manage work. The longer ambition reaches sidewalks, drainage, signs, bridges, and other public assets.The product has customers, revenue, and funding, while the engineering choices that define the next phase are still open. You would join a world-class engineering team that includes a founding software engineer formerly at Brex and a machine learning engineer formerly at X, Google's moonshot factory.What you'll ownYou will take customer problems from first conversation to shipped software. The scope reaches product decisions, architecture, interface, data model, releases, and the standards a growing engineering team will inherit.Choose the highest-value customer problem and test the fastest credible solution.Build across React, TypeScript, Mapbox, Express, and the geospatial data layer.Set quality thresholds and human-review paths for imperfect physical-world inputs.Stay close to deployment, own production outcomes, and help shape the future team.Problems you'll solveA city cannot base a maintenance plan on a black-box score.
