With experienced leadership and professional teams in Oman and India, businessgateways is expanding specialized technology offerings to governments worldwide, focusing on local content development across procurement and investment ecosystems.Role Description The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Chennai, responsible for driving the overall technology vision, strategy, and execution for Business Gateways International LLC. The CTO will oversee software and product development teams, define and maintain system architecture, and ensure the delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performing platforms that meet government and enterprise requirements impacting worldwide operations. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing technology roadmaps, prioritizing projects, aligning IT initiatives with business objectives, and collaborating with executive leadership on strategic planning and innovation. The role involves leading project governance, optimizing development processes, evaluating emerging technologies, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards. The CTO will also mentor technology leaders, manage vendor and partner relationships, and support international expansion of the company’s platforms.QualificationsStrong background in Software Development, with experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex, mission-critical platforms including AI based SDLC.Software platforms include Open Source, Frameworks and Big Data driven engagements. Cloud Hosting knowledge is preferable but optional.Proven expertise in Project Management, including planning, execution, risk management, and stakeholder communication for large-scale technology initiatives.Demonstrated ability in IT Strategy, aligning technology investments with organizational goals and public-sector or enterprise requirements.Deep knowledge of Technology Architecture, including designing scalable, secure, and interoperable systems for cloud-based platforms.Experience in Product Development, overseeing full product lifecycles from concept to launch and continuous improvement.Advanced leadership and people management skills, with a track record of building high-performing, cross-functional technology teams.Strong presentation skills, analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities, with excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders.Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; prior CTO or senior technology leadership experience in ITES, SaaS, or government platforms is highly beneficial.Ability for short notice international travel.
