CTO – Digital Transaction BankingGrade: SVPLocation: ChennaiReporting To: Business HeadAbout the RoleWe are seeking a visionary and execution-driven technology leader to drive the technology strategy, architecture, scalability, and modernization of Intellect’s Digital Transaction Banking platform.The role requires deep expertise in enterprise banking platforms, transaction banking architecture, cloud-native engineering, and large-scale transformation programs. The CTO will work closely with customers, product leadership, engineering, delivery, and business stakeholders to build highly scalable, resilient, AI-enabled, and future-ready banking platforms.This leader will play a critical role in shaping next-generation capabilities across payments, cash management, liquidity management, API banking, virtual accounts, trade finance, and corporate banking transformation initiatives globally.The ideal candidate combines strong banking domain expertise with modern engineering leadership and the ability to engage confidently with CXOs, enterprise architects, regulators, and strategic customers. The candidate should also demonstrate a strong track record of driving the adoption of AI-Driven Development Lifecycle (AIDLC) practices and providing hands-on technical guidance to development and engineering teams.Key ResponsibilitiesDefine and drive the technology vision and architecture roadmap for the Digital Transaction Banking platform.Lead enterprise architecture across cloud-native, microservices-based banking platforms.Drive scalability, resiliency, security, observability, and modernization initiatives.Partner with CIOs, CTOs, enterprise architects, and senior customer stakeholders on transformation programs.Lead architecture governance, solution reviews, and strategic technology decisions.Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Delivery, and Sales teams on platform evolution and customer success.Guide cloud, DevSecOps, API, integration, and enterprise deployment strategies.Provide hands-on technical guidance to development and engineering teams, supporting design decisions, code-level problem-solving, engineering excellence, and the implementation of scalable, high-quality solutions.Drive initiatives to accelerate the adoption of AIDLC practices across the software development lifecycle, leveraging AI-enabled engineering approaches to improve developer productivity, quality, and delivery outcomes.Leverage deep expertise in J2EE and enterprise application development, alongside modern cloud-native technologies, to guide platform architecture, engineering decisions, and technology modernization.Mentor senior architects and engineering leaders across the organization.Stay ahead of emerging banking and enterprise technology trends, including AI-led transformation initiatives.Required Experience20+ years of experience in enterprise technology leadership, software engineering, architecture, and large-scale technology transformation.Strong experience in Digital Transaction Banking, Payments, Cash Management, Trade Finance, or Corporate Banking platforms.Proven experience building and scaling enterprise-grade banking solutions.Deep expertise in J2EE and enterprise application architecture, alongside cloud-native architectures, microservices, APIs, DevSecOps, containerization, and enterprise integration.Demonstrated experience driving the adoption of AIDLC or AI-enabled software development and engineering practices.Strong hands-on technical capabilities, with the ability to guide development and engineering teams on architecture, design, implementation, and complex technical challenges.Strong exposure to enterprise infrastructure, security, observability, and high-availability systems.Excellent stakeholder management and customer-facing leadership skills.Prior experience working with global banking customers and regulated environments preferred.QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.MBA or advanced technology/business certifications preferred.Relevant cloud, architecture, or enterprise technology certifications will be an added advantage.Preferred BackgroundCandidates from the following environments will be preferred:Banking product organizationsTransaction banking platformsPayments and corporate banking technology firmsBFSI-focused SaaS/product companiesLarge-scale banking transformation practices within consulting or technology organizations
