Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

As CTO, you will be the technical leader of the business, working closely with the founders to shape our product and technology strategy as we scale from Series A towards Series B.You will lead our 6-person engineering team in India, while remaining sufficiently hands-on and responsible for the architecture, performance, and roadmap of Nina and Trace, and for building the engineering organization behind them whilst staying close enough to the code and models to make sharp technical calls.Key responsibilitiesOwn the company's technology and AI strategy, including the end-to-end technical vision and architecture for Nina and TraceLead, mentor and scale the distributed engineering team, establishing the culture, standards, processes and hiring strategy needed for the next stage of growthDrive the evolution and performance of Nina and Trace, improving agent accuracy, reliability, latency, cost and scalabilityEstablish robust approaches to AI agent evaluation, orchestration, safety & reliabilityDesign and scale the underlying data pipelines, integrations, verification workflows and infrastructure supporting the agentsOwn technology practices around data privacy, security and responsible AI, particularly for sensitive candidate and background-check dataTranslate product, customer and commercial priorities into a clear technical roadmap and execution plan, working closely with founders, product and go-to-market teamsMake strategic architecture, technology, build-vs-buy and model-vs-API decisions to optimise long-term capability, cost and scalabilityShape the future technology organisation, including team structure, engineering processes and talent strategyRepresent technology and engineering with customers, partners, the board and investors as requiredRequirementsA degree from a leading university in Computer Science, AI, Mathematics, Engineering or a related technical disciplineSignificant experience leading engineering and/or AI teams in a startup or high-growth technology businessStrong software engineering and technical architecture backgroundDeep understanding of LLMs, AI agents and production AI systemsExperience taking AI products from concept through to reliable, scalable productionStrong product and commercial judgementProven ability to lead distributed engineering teamsExcellent communicator who can operate effectively with founders, engineers, customers and investorsHands-on, pragmatic and comfortable operating in a fast-moving environmentBackground — any of these paths could be a strong fitFounding CTO of an early-stage startup (AI/SaaS preferred)Head of Engineering / VP of Engineering ready to take on a broader, CTO-level mandateDirector/Head of AI or Applied AI/ML looking to step up into a full CTO roleAmbitious, high-agency engineering leaders who want outsized ownership at an early-stage company BenefitsPension PlanBirthday OffHealth & wellbeing benefitsLifestyle savings and discounts
