We’re building technology that makes it easier for the fashion industry to discover, connect, book, collaborate, and manage projects from concept to catwalk.The RoleWe’re looking for a highly technical CTO with strong leadership qualities who can also code hands-on. This is not a position for someone who only wants to manage developers. We need a full-stack technical leader who can understand the entire product, make architectural decisions, write production-quality code, troubleshoot issues, and lead the engineering team as we scale.As CTO, you’ll work directly with the founder to turn product strategy into a scalable technical roadmap while establishing the engineering standards, processes, and culture needed to grow 99 YARDS.What You’ll DoLead the overall technology strategy and engineering roadmap.Remain hands-on with full-stack development and contribute directly to the codebase.Lead, mentor, and manage developers, interns, and future engineering hires.Take ownership of mobile, web, backend, database, cloud infrastructure, APIs, and AI integrations.Review code and establish standards for code quality, testing, documentation, security, and deployment.Translate Figma designs and product requirements into technically sound implementations.Improve application performance, reliability, scalability, and security.Diagnose and resolve critical technical issues quickly.Help evaluate, interview, and onboard engineering talent.Work closely with product and design to prioritize features and meet launch deadlines.Build technical infrastructure capable of supporting significant user and transaction growth.What We’re Looking ForWe’re looking for someone with proven full-stack engineering experience and real leadership ability. You should be comfortable moving between strategy and execution—whether that means planning the architecture, leading a development meeting, reviewing a pull request, or personally jumping into the code to solve a problem.Strong experience with technologies such as React Native, React/Next.js, Node.js, Python/FastAPI, PostgreSQL, AWS, APIs, and AI/LLM integrations is highly valuable.Most importantly, we want a CTO who demonstrates ownership, accountability, communication, problem-solving ability, and the ability to lead a technical team under startup conditions.CompensationThis is an equity-based (for now) founding leadership opportunity for someone who believes in what 99 YARDS is building and wants to help shape the company at the technical and strategic level. Specific equity, vesting, milestones, responsibilities, and long-term compensation structure will be discussed with qualified candidates.We are looking for a builder and a leader—not just a manager.
