Chief Technology Officer / Head of Engineering

Our client is a fast-growing, specialist fintech organisation that helps global businesses.We are working with this business, on a confidential basis, to find their next Chief Technology Officer.This is a hands-on, high-impact leadership role working closely alongside the board, with real influence over technology direction rather than a purely operational remit. You will inherit a modern, production-grade stack (Vue 3/Nuxt, Java/Spring Boot microservices, and a multi-database layer spanning MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB and Redis) and an established engineering team, working closely with the wider product organisation. You will shape the architecture, elevate engineering practice, and directly influence how their platform evolves through its next phase of growth.We are looking for a technologist who has come up through the ranks as a software engineer and built genuine hands-on credibility before stepping into leadership.Ideally you will have:A background as a software engineer who has progressed into senior engineering or CTO-level leadership, rather than a purely managerial route inExperience gained across InsurTech, FinTech, RegTech, HealthTech, Legal Tech, Payments or comparable regulated, data-intensive industriesA track record of building and scaling products used by real customers, not just internal toolsGenuine, hands-on familiarity with modern AI/ML stacks, LLMs, RAG and agentic approaches, and the ability to translate that into shipped product features rather than side projectsComfort operating in a growth-stage environment, without the safety net of a large institution behind youMandarin language skills (essential given the regional stakeholder footprint)If you are excited by the idea of taking on full CTO responsibility within a market-leading, high-growth organisation in Asia, we would like to hear from you.To discuss this opportunity in confidence, message me directly or send your CV.
