Child and Adolescent Therapist

In this role you will have the opportunity to be an important part of this new initiative by providing therapy to teens dealing with anxiety and depression. The therapy you provide may be individual, family, group and/or collateral therapy.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive clinical interviews with parents and clients, develop case formulation and synthesize/disseminate significant information to team members.Develop and deliver psychological treatment plans for teens and their families, which may include individual, family, and parent and collateral therapy.Coordinate clinical care with other disciplines including SLP, OT, education, psychology and psychiatry.Conduct in-service training and seminars at CHC or within the community, including continuing education and parent education.Attend clinical staff and team meetings as assigned.Adhere to all mental health legal and ethical mandates and guidelines in the execution of duties, including timely completion of charting, billing, report preparation and ethical/confidentiality issues as outlined by the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy or National Association of Social Workers.Participate in IEP conferences and other school meetings to assist school personnel in understanding client issues and rationale for implementation of recommendations when clinically valid.Meet productivity expectations as assigned by the Division Director.Perform at full productivity at the completion of the 3rd month of hire

Qualifications

LMFT/LCSW from an accredited graduate school, preferably with at least 3 years post degree experience in either/both a pediatric clinic and/or school-based settingValid California license to practice in a mental health field requiredMaintenance of valid California license with documentation of continuing education credits submitted to the Board of Behavioral Sciences with copy provided to Division DirectorAdherence to all professional, ethical, legal and confidentiality issues outlined by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy or National Association of Social Workers and State and Federal laws (e.g., HIPAA)Knowledge and understanding of CHC's four areas of expertise: ADHD, LD, anxiety and depression and Autism Spectrum disordersKnowledge and skills in adolescent individual and family therapies, case formulations and treatment planningPassion and enthusiasm about working with teensAvailability to work when teens are available, including afternoon and early evening as neededExcellent time management and material organizational skillsAbility to work in team-oriented environmentExcellent interpersonal and written communication skills with both client and colleaguesFlexibility to respond to changing circumstances and priorities within the agencyKnowledge and use of computers and an Electronic Health Record (EHR) is essential.Benefits to regular employees working at least .75 FTE or greater receive the following:Highly Competitive Healthcare BenefitsPaid holidays – usually 14-16/year!Non-school staff receive 3 weeks of paid vacation/year for their first five years, then 4 weeks/year!Faculty at the schools receive vacation breaks throughout the year and in the summer.Full-time employees accrue 80 hours/year sick leave (pro-rated if you work less).3 personal days converted from sick bank if you have a sick balance of 80 hours after 2 years with CHC401(K) planMonthly lunches provided by CHC!Fabulous work environment!
