Location: School-Based and OutpatientEmployment: Full-Time, W-2NorthWork Counseling | Transforming Access to Mental Health CareNorthWork Counseling is growing, and we are looking for a compassionate Family & Child Therapist who enjoys working with children, adolescents, parents, and families across both school-based and outpatient settings.Our mission is to break down the barriers families face when trying to access meaningful, evidence-based mental health care.

Too many children and families struggle with long waitlists, limited access to providers, or the financial barriers associated with private-pay therapy. We are committed to changing that by providing high-quality, research-supported care while accepting insurance and bringing services directly into the communities we serve.As a Family & Child Therapist at NorthWork, you will work with children and families experiencing anxiety, trauma, emotional dysregulation, behavioral challenges, relationship difficulties, and other mental health concerns.This position will include a combination of therapy within local school settings and outpatient therapy at our Lenexa office, with opportunities for Telehealth when clinically appropriate.You will have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with children and families while collaborating with parents, schools, and other providers to create lasting change.ResponsibilitiesProvide high-quality, evidence-based, trauma-informed therapy to children, adolescents, and families.Provide therapy within participating school settings as well as NorthWork Counseling's Lenexa outpatient office.Assess and treat concerns including anxiety, trauma, emotional dysregulation, behavioral challenges, family conflict, and adjustment difficulties.Provide parent consultation, education, and coaching to strengthen family relationships and support progress outside of therapy.Collaborate with school personnel, caregivers, and other professionals when clinically appropriate.Develop individualized treatment plans based on each child's and family's needs.Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation.Exercise independent clinical judgment in assessment, treatment planning, and delivery of services.Help create a therapeutic environment where children and families feel safe, respected, and supported.QualificationsMust hold a valid Kansas behavioral health license or be eligible to practice under an appropriate Kansas license, including LMSW, LMLP, LPC, LCPC, LSCSW, LP, or similar credential.Strong interest in working with children, adolescents, parents, and families.Comfortable providing services in both school-based and outpatient clinical settings.Interest or experience working with anxiety, trauma, emotional regulation, behavioral concerns, and family systems.Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with parents, schools, and other professionals.Commitment to compassionate, culturally responsive, developmentally appropriate, and family-centered care.Reliable transportation and ability to travel to participating school locations as needed.What We OfferUp to $65 per clinical hour/session.W-2 employment.12 days of paid time off.8 paid holidays.401(k) retirement plan.Professional office space at our Lenexa location.Opportunities to provide therapy within local schools.Telehealth flexibility when appropriate.Billing, insurance credentialing, and administrative support handled by NorthWork Counseling.Opportunity to grow your caseload as the practice and school partnerships expand.A supportive, mission-driven practice focused on making high-quality mental health care accessible to children and families.The opportunity to focus on clinical work without having to manage the administrative demands of private practice.About the RoleThis position is a strong fit for a therapist who enjoys working directly with children while also recognizing that meaningful change often involves parents, families, schools, and the larger systems surrounding a child.We are looking for someone who values autonomy, collaboration, evidence-based treatment, and building genuine relationships with the children and families they serve.If you are looking for a flexible clinical role where you can make an impact both in schools and in the therapy office, we would love to hear from you.
