The role involves planning, delivering, and assessing engaging lessons across childcare-related programs, ensuring that teaching is aligned with curriculum requirements and industry standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing learning materials, providing constructive feedback on student work, and supporting learners through tutorials, progress reviews, and pastoral care. The lecturer will collaborate with colleagues to develop course resources, contribute to quality assurance and course improvement activities, and participate in meetings, events, and open days. The role also requires maintaining accurate records, promoting positive student attitudes and behaviours, and upholding safeguarding and inclusion practices.Qualifications Relevant childcare or early years qualification at Level 4 or above, with up-to-date knowledge of childcare practice and legislation.Recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or working towards a teaching qualification) and experience delivering further education or vocational courses.Strong lesson planning, classroom management, and assessment skills, with the ability to differentiate for diverse learners and support inclusive practice.Effective communication, interpersonal, and mentoring skills to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and external partners.Ability to use digital learning platforms and standard IT tools to create resources, track progress, and enhance teaching and learning.Commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusive education, with a learner-centered approach and focus on positive behaviors and outcomes.Experience in a professional childcare or early years setting is highly beneficial, along with familiarity with current sector standards and best practice.
