Job description:Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Chiller Technician specializing in Light Transport Vehicle (LTV) Refrigeration Units. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing transport refrigeration systems (reefer units) mounted on delivery vans and light trucks. Your work will ensure the reliable, temperature-controlled transport of perishable goods, pharmaceuticals, and food supplies within the cold chain network.Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnosis & Repair: Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues in transport refrigeration units (e.g., Thermo King, Carrier, or similar brands).Preventative Maintenance: Conduct scheduled servicing, including inspecting refrigerant levels, cleaning condenser/evaporator coils, checking belts, and testing electrical connections.Refrigerant Handling: Safely recover, evacuate, leak-test, and recharge refrigerant systems in compliance with environmental and safety standards.Electrical Troubleshooting: Read wiring diagrams to diagnose and repair control panels, thermostats, compressors, and wiring harnesses integrated with the LTV's electrical system.Documentation: Maintain accurate logs of all maintenance and repair work performed, and report necessary spare parts inventory to management.Field Support: Respond to emergency breakdown calls on the road or at client depots when required.Qualifications & RequirementsEducation: High school diploma, vocational training certificate, or diploma in HVAC-R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration) or Automotive Electrical/Mechanics.Experience: Proven hands-on experience (typically 2–5 years) working specifically with transport refrigeration or commercial vehicle chillers.Licensing: A valid LTV (Light Transport Vehicle) driving license is preferred to drive service vehicles or maneuver refrigerated trucks within the facility.Certifications: Refrigerant handling certification (such as EPA Section 608 or local equivalent) is highly desirable.Technical Skills: Strong understanding of vapor-compression refrigeration cycles, DC electrical systems, and diagnostic tools.Job Type: Full-timeWork Location: In person
