CHINESE TRANSLATORLocation: Kisumu- MiwaniEmployment Type: Full-TimeNumber of Positions: 3Role SummaryKEDA Ceramics International Ltd is seeking to recruit three (3) skilled Chinese Translators to support effective communication between Chinese management and the local workforce. The successful candidates will facilitate accurate communication, smooth coordination, and efficient workflow within the factory environment.The role requires a strong understanding of both Mandarin Chinese and English, as well as the ability to work closely with managers, team leaders, and local employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.Key ResponsibilitiesAct as the primary communication link between Chinese managers and local employees, ensuring accurate and timely translation.Provide spoken and written translation during meetings, briefings, training sessions, and daily factory operations.Support the Chinese HOD in preparing and reviewing weekly attendance reports and monthly employee performance evaluations.Monitor and report on the daily work progress and performance of local team leaders.Monitor the working conditions and welfare of local employees and promptly communicate any concerns to the Chinese manager.Assist in resolving communication-related issues between Chinese management and local employees and escalate matters requiring management attention.Develop a good understanding of the operations and processes of each workstation within the assigned department.Translate work instructions, procedures, notices, and other operational information accurately.Assist Chinese managers in guiding, correcting, and supervising employees where necessary.Support effective implementation of management instructions and ensure employees clearly understand assigned duties and expectations.Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and neutrality when handling employee and company information.Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.Required QualificationsDiploma or Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized institution.HSK Level 4 or above is preferred.Fluency in spoken and written Mandarin Chinese and English.Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience as a Chinese Translator, Interpreter, or in a similar role.Experience in a manufacturing, industrial, construction, or factory environment will be an added advantage.Key Skills and CompetenciesExcellent Mandarin Chinese and English communication skills.Strong translation and interpretation skills.Good interpersonal and communication skills.Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.Ability to work effectively with Chinese expatriates and a diverse local workforce.Good supervisory and employee coordination skills.High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.Strong organizational and reporting skills.Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced factory environment.Self-motivated and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.Application ProcessInterested candidates who meet the above requirements should send their updated CV to:hrkisumu@twyfordtile.comEmail Subject: Chinese Translator –KisumuOnly shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
