Applicants can expect to join a growing team that values creativity, social impact, and professional excellence in film production.Role Description The Cinematographer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Harare, Zimbabwe. The Cinematographer will plan and execute the visual style of productions, working closely with directors and producers to translate concepts into compelling imagery. Daily responsibilities include operating cameras, setting up and adjusting lighting, selecting lenses and equipment, and ensuring proper framing, exposure, and composition for each shot. The role also involves collaborating with the production team on shot lists, managing technical aspects of video production, and maintaining equipment to ensure high-quality output. The Cinematographer will contribute creative input throughout pre-production, production, and post-production, helping to achieve consistent visual storytelling aligned with project objectives.Qualifications Strong skills in Cinematography and Film Production, with experience shaping the visual narrative of short- and long-form projects.Proficiency in Camera Operation and Video Production, including familiarity with professional camera systems and related accessories.Hands-on expertise in Lighting for film, with the ability to design and adjust lighting setups for different locations and moods.Knowledge of basic post-production workflows and an understanding of how footage will be edited and color graded.Ability to collaborate effectively with directors, producers, and crew, and to communicate visual ideas clearly.Strong attention to detail, time management skills, and the ability to work efficiently on fast-paced sets.Experience in socially driven or NGO-related productions is an advantage.Relevant training or education in film, media, or a related field is preferred, along with a portfolio or showreel demonstrating previous work.
