Job Title - CinematographerLocation - Shimla, Himachal Pradesh | On SiteType - Full-Time EmploymentStart Date - ImmediateExperience - 4 - 6 yearsAbout the RoleWe’re looking for a skilled and creative Cinematographer to take ownership of video production at Shala Gurukulam. You’ll work across brand films, social media content, retreats, events, and on-ground experiences, bringing our stories and visual identity to life.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate Sony or Nikon mirrorless camera systems across different shoot formats.Plan and execute shoots from creative brief to final footage.Shoot in S-Log2/S-Log3 with a strong understanding of exposure, dynamic range, and colour.Select appropriate lenses, framing, lighting, and camera movement for different storytelling requirements.Capture high-quality footage and B-roll for social media, brand films, and long-form content.Work closely with the creative and editing teams to ensure footage meets post-production requirements.Manage, organise, and maintain camera equipment and footage.You’re a Great Fit If You:Have 4 - 6 years of professional cinematography experience.Are proficient with Sony or Nikon mirrorless cameras.Have strong knowledge of S-Log2/S-Log3, exposure, lenses, and colour workflows.Have a strong eye for composition, lighting, movement, and visual storytelling.Are proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro.Have knowledge of DaVinci Resolve and/or After Effects, a plus.Have a strong portfolio/reel demonstrating narrative, brand, lifestyle, or documentary work.Are comfortable working independently and taking ownership of shoots.Are willing to relocate to and work on-site in Shimla.Nice to HaveOwn camera, lenses, gimbal, lighting, or other shooting equipment.Experience with colour grading in DaVinci Resolve.Experience shooting brand films, documentaries, retreats, wellness, or hospitality content.What You’ll GetFull-time on-site role at Shala Gurukulam, Shimla.Creative ownership over the visual storytelling of the brand.Opportunity to work across films, social media, retreats, and unique on-ground experiences.Work closely with the founder and creative team.Opportunity to build a strong portfolio of meaningful visual work.
