Civil Engineer

The Civil Engineer is responsible for overseeing and managing civil construction activities from project execution through completion, ensuring that works are delivered in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, project schedules, and contractual requirements. The role requires strong site supervision, technical coordination, quantity verification, progress monitoring, and contractor management experience.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise and oversee civil construction activities on site, ensuring work is executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and project requirements.Review and interpret architectural, structural, civil, and engineering drawings, identifying discrepancies, technical issues, and required clarifications prior to and during execution.Monitor project progress against approved schedules and work plans, identifying delays, constraints, and potential risks and recommending appropriate corrective actions.Review and verify quantities, measurements, material requirements, and completed works to ensure accuracy and alignment with approved drawings, BOQs, and contractual requirements.Monitor and control the quality of construction works, ensuring compliance with project specifications, applicable standards, approved materials, and quality control procedures.Conduct regular site inspections to assess workmanship, construction methods, materials, safety requirements, and compliance with approved technical documentation.Supervise and evaluate contractor performance, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, project schedules, quality requirements, and technical specifications.Review contractor work programs, method statements, material submittals, inspection requests, shop drawings, and technical submissions.Coordinate with contractors, consultants, project managers, suppliers, and other disciplines to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth project execution.Identify construction discrepancies, design conflicts, and site issues and coordinate with the relevant stakeholders to develop practical and timely solutions.Monitor daily and weekly construction activities and prepare progress reports highlighting completed works, planned activities, delays, critical issues, and required actions.Verify contractor claims, completed quantities, and progress measurements to support accurate payment certification and commercial evaluation.Ensure that construction activities comply with approved quality plans, inspection and testing requirements, health and safety standards, and applicable regulations.Monitor the use and installation of materials to ensure compliance with approved specifications, technical standards, and project requirements.Participate in project meetings, site coordination meetings, progress reviews, and technical discussions, providing updates on construction progress and outstanding issues.Review and monitor the implementation of corrective and preventive actions resulting from inspections, quality observations, non-conformance reports, and site findings.Support project closeout activities, including snagging and de-snagging, as-built documentation, testing and inspection records, and handover requirements.Maintain accurate site records, inspection reports, progress documentation, technical correspondence, and other project-related records.Assist in identifying potential construction risks and develop mitigation measures to minimize delays, rework, cost impacts, and quality issues.Ensure effective coordination between design requirements and site execution, supporting the successful delivery of projects within approved time, cost, quality, and scope requirements.RequirementsMinimum 10 years of experience, Strong experience in construction, site supervision, and project execution.Ability to review drawings, quantities, progress, quality, and contractor performance.
