Location: HuntingdonType: PermanentLevel: Graduate / Assistant Civil EngineerWe are working with a leading engineering consultancy looking to add an Assistant Civil Engineer to their growing civil engineering team.The role would suit a Graduate or Assistant-level engineer looking to develop their experience across civil engineering, highways, drainage and development infrastructure, working alongside experienced engineers on a variety of residential and commercial projects.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist with the design and delivery of civil infrastructure schemes from feasibility through to detailed design.Produce and amend 2D/3D drawings using AutoCAD.Assist with the design of highways, access roads, junctions and site infrastructure.Support the design of surface water and foul drainage systems, including SuDS.Assist with site levels, earthworks and external works design.Prepare drawings, calculations, technical reports and information for planning and technical approvals.Support applications and submissions including S38, S278 and S104.Review topographical surveys and existing site information and incorporate these into designs.Coordinate civil designs with architects, structural engineers, transport consultants, utilities and other project disciplines.Assist senior engineers with resolving technical issues and responding to client/authority comments.Develop your understanding of relevant UK design standards, regulations and technical requirements.Gain exposure to projects through planning, detailed design and construction stages.About YouDegree/HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.Previous consultancy, development or infrastructure experience would be beneficial, but Graduate candidates will be considered.Experience using AutoCAD is important.Exposure to highways, drainage, infrastructure or residential development would be advantageous.Strong communication and problem-solving skills.Keen to develop technically and progress within a consultancy environment.What the role offersThis is an opportunity to join an established engineering consultancy where you will gain hands-on design experience across highways, drainage and development infrastructure, with support from senior engineers and a clear opportunity to progress your technical career.Sounds interesting?
