Claims Executive

We are currently recruiting for a Claims Executive to join an established and growing maritime team in Athens. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced claims professional looking to take the next step in their career, with the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of P&I and FD&D claims, while also providing guidance and support to junior members of the team.The roleYou will manage a varied and interesting caseload, supporting a broad membership that includes a significant number of traders. The role will offer exposure to a wide range of matters, including claims arising from charterparties. There is flexibility to focus in either P&I or FD&D or have a mix of work. You will also play an important role in developing the wider team, providing guidance to junior claims assistants. There will be scope further opportunities for progression and promotion in the future as the office has plans to grow.Key responsibilitiesManaging a varied portfolio of P&I and/or FD&D claims from inception through to resolution.Advising members on claims-related matters, including charterparty and contractual issues.Working closely with members and other stakeholders to provide commercially focused claims advice.Supporting and mentoring junior Claims Assistants.Providing guidance on more complex claims and helping develop best practice within the team.Working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider Mediterranean operation.Contributing to the continued growth and development of the Athens claims function.About youWe are looking for an experienced shipping claims professional with approximately 4–5+ years' marine claims handling experience, gained either from a broker, shipowner, law firm or P&I club. A qualified lawyer is required due to the nature of the dry shipping claims work along with Greek and English language skills.This is a chance to join a well-established marine insurance company in Athens at an exciting stage of its development.
