The manager will coach and develop team members, manage workloads, address escalations, and help implement organizational and process improvements.Key ResponsibilitiesReview property claim files for quality and provide appropriate feedback to employees.Coach employees regularly and help them understand how their work supports overall business and claims strategies.Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, customer/member experience, and business processes.Remove obstacles, support organizational changes, and create an environment for successful team performance.Manage workloads, staffing levels, productivity, and training requirements.Monitor work to ensure employees consistently follow established processes, policies, and guidelines.Handle escalated claims and make appropriate decisions based on applicable policies.Help employees identify their skills and develop career plans and professional capabilities.Support projects by serving as a subject matter expert.Recruit, develop, coach, and manage claims employees to achieve business objectives.Provide ongoing coaching to improve claims-handling performance and employee engagement.Identify, assess, monitor, and control operational risks in accordance with company risk and compliance policies.Support process improvements and organizational initiatives within the claims operation.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree or four years of relevant education and/or professional experience.At least 6 years of progressive experience in customer service, operations, military service, or leadership.At least 2 years of claims-handling experience with demonstrated proficiency.At least 2 years of direct team-lead, supervisory, or management experience.Experience using and interpreting data to make business decisions.Demonstrated leadership, initiative, customer service, and/or claims-handling skills.Ability to obtain and maintain the applicable insurance adjuster license within 6 months of starting the role.Preferred QualificationsAt least 5 years of property claims experience, particularly with moderate-severity homeowners or dwelling claims.Experience handling water-loss claims.Knowledge of property insurance contracts and interpretation of relevant case law.Residential construction experience.Experience with Xactimate, XactAnalysis, and XactContents.Catastrophe claims experience.CPCU or another insurance industry designation.Previous participation in an L4A program.U.S. military experience, either through military service or as a military spouse/domestic partner.CompensationThe annual salary range is $103,450–$186,210.Actual compensation may vary depending on location, experience, qualifications, market conditions, and other factors.
