Someoneskilled with strong knowledge of machining practices, the ability to work from technical drawingsand specifications, and a commitment to producing high-quality, precision work.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC and/or manual machining equipment to manufacture precisioncomponents.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, tolerances, and workinstructions.
- Perform machine setups, including selection and installation of appropriate tooling, fixtures,and workholding.
- Verify programs, tooling, offsets, and setup requirements prior to machining.
- Perform in-process inspections to ensure parts meet drawing and customer requirements.
- Use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, height gauges,and other inspection tools.
- Maintain close tolerances and consistently produce parts that meet quality requirements.
- Identify machining or quality issues and communicate concerns to supervision and QualityAssurance.
- Complete required job travelers, inspection documentation, and other production recordsaccurately
- Maintain equipment and work areas in a clean, safe, and organized condition.
- Follow company quality procedures, safety requirements, and applicable customerrequirements.
- Assist and provide guidance to less-experienced machinists when needed
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Class A, Senior, or highly experienced Machinist in a precisionmanufacturing environment.
- Strong CNC machining and setup experience.
- Ability to independently set up and operate machining equipment.
- Strong understanding of machining processes, cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and toolingselection.
- Ability to read and understand complex engineering drawings and specifications.
- Working knowledge of GD&T and dimensional tolerances.
- Proficient with precision measuring and inspection equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot machining, tooling, and setup issues.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
Preferred Experience
Experience with CNC lathes and mills, multi-axis machining, CNC programming, CAD/CAM software,and precision machining of complex components is preferred. Experience working within a controlledQuality Management System or manufacturing parts to stringent customer, nuclear, government, orother highly regulated requirements is also beneficial.What We’re Looking For:The ideal candidate is an experienced machinist who takes pride in their work, understands theimportance of producing parts correctly the first time, and can take a job from setup through machiningand inspection with minimal supervision.
