Clinical staff are encouraged to grow professionally within a supportive environment that values innovation and evidence-based practice.Role Description The Clinical Dietitian is a full-time, on-site role based in Danville, IL, responsible for providing medical nutrition therapy to patients across a variety of clinical settings. Day-to-day tasks include assessing patients’ nutritional status, developing individualized care plans, and documenting interventions in the medical record. The role involves collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and other care team members to integrate nutrition recommendations with overall treatment plans. The Clinical Dietitian will provide nutrition education to patients and families, monitor progress, adjust plans as needed, and participate in interdisciplinary rounds and quality improvement initiatives. This position also supports hospital policies and regulatory standards related to nutrition care and food and nutrition services.Qualifications Ability to perform comprehensive nutrition assessments, develop individualized care plans, and provide medical nutrition therapy for diverse patient populations.Strong patient education skills, including the ability to explain complex nutrition information clearly and support behavior change in collaboration with patients and families.Effective interdisciplinary communication skills to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other health professionals in an acute care environment.Proficiency in documentation and use of electronic health records, with attention to accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory requirements.Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential or eligibility, with state licensure or ability to obtain licensure in Illinois as required.Knowledge of current evidence-based nutrition guidelines, clinical standards of care, and regulations related to hospital nutrition services.Strong organizational and time-management abilities to prioritize multiple patients and tasks in a fast-paced clinical setting.Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field; completion of an accredited dietetic internship or supervised practice program.Experience in a hospital or clinical setting preferred; familiarity with specialized nutrition support (e.g., enteral or parenteral) is a plus.Commitment to providing equitable, culturally sensitive care and maintaining high ethical and professional standards.
