This role provides medical nutrition therapy to patients across a variety of clinical settings, including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and specialty programs. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing patients’ nutritional status, developing individualized care plans, and collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other care team members to support treatment goals. The Clinical Dietitian will educate patients, families, and caregivers on nutrition-related disease management, preventive health, and lifestyle modifications, and will document interventions and outcomes in the electronic health record. Additional responsibilities may include participation in quality improvement initiatives, interdisciplinary rounds, and nutrition-related research or education projects within the academic health system.Qualifications Demonstrated proficiency in clinical nutrition assessment, medical nutrition therapy, and development of individualized nutrition care plans.Strong skills in patient and family education, including counseling on disease-specific nutrition, behavior change, and long-term lifestyle management.Ability to work collaboratively in interprofessional teams, communicating effectively with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other health professionals.Competence in documentation and use of electronic health records, along with attention to regulatory, accreditation, and quality standards.Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential or eligibility, with state licensure (or eligibility for licensure) as required in Utah.Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field from an accredited program; completion of an accredited dietetic internship.Experience in an acute care, outpatient, or specialty clinical setting (e.g., oncology, cardiology, diabetes, critical care) is highly beneficial.Commitment to evidence-based practice, continuing education, and contributing to an inclusive, patient-centered care environment.
