Clinical Engineering Cyber Specialist LOCATION: FAR ROCKAWAY, NEW YORK 11691 Work Arrangement: ON-SITE Experience Level: Mid-Senior Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience Compensation: Up to $85,000/yearVisa Sponsorship: Not Available Valid Driver’s License RequiredAbout the RoleWe’re looking for a Clinical Engineering Cyber Specialist with strong experience in biomedical/medical devices and healthcare cybersecurity to support critical cybersecurity initiatives within a hospital environment.This role combines clinical engineering, medical device security, vulnerability management, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will work closely with hospital IT, Information Security, HTM, BMETs, and medical device manufacturers.Key Responsibilities- Lead medical device cybersecurity risk assessments.- Collect critical cybersecurity data and manufacturer documentation through CMMS.- Implement and oversee cybersecurity controls for medical devices.- Manage planned and emergency vulnerability remediation, including zero-day threats.- Coordinate cybersecurity activities with medical device manufacturers.- Investigate cybersecurity alerts and high-risk vulnerabilities.- Support network segmentation testing and validation with hospital IT.- Track and report vulnerability remediation activities.- Ensure medical devices are securely configured according to applicable standards.- Support cybersecurity projects involving network-connected medical devices.- Coach BMETs and HTM teams on cybersecurity best practices.- Support HIPAA, Joint Commission, and other cybersecurity-related audits.Requirements- Previous biomedical/biomed experience or equivalent experience working with medical devices.- Healthcare cybersecurity experience.- Minimum 3 years of relevant functional experience.- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.- Strong knowledge of CMMS platforms.- Knowledge of NIST and ISO cybersecurity frameworks.- Understanding of FDA and Joint Commission requirements.- Experience with vulnerability management, risk assessments, patching, and cybersecurity controls.- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.Preferred Qualifications- CISSP- HCISPP- CEH- Security+- Other relevant cybersecurity or healthcare technology certifications.What’s Offered- Competitive compensation of up to $85,000 annually- Medical, dental and vision benefits- Wellness programs- 401(k) with matching contributions- Paid time off and company holidays- Career development opportunities- Tuition reimbursementApply NowIf you have a strong background in biomedical/medical devices and healthcare cybersecurity, this is an opportunity to take your career further at the intersection of healthcare technology and cybersecurity.
