Clinical Manager (Mental health setting)

WC is a UK-based charity working to improve wellbeing, reduce inequalities and make support more accessible for diverse communities. We work closely with local partners, community organisations and public services to deliver practical, culturally responsive support that reflects the needs of the people we serve.Our NHS-commissioned Community Counselling Service supports adults aged 18+ across Birmingham and Solihull with short-term, person-centred and culturally responsive counselling. Salary: 38k to 40kRole Purpose:Purpose of the RoleThe Clinical Manager will provide day-to-day clinical leadership across the Community Counselling Service, supporting counsellors to deliver safe, effective and person-centred care. The post holder will oversee clinical quality, safeguarding support, audits and service development whilst working closely with operational colleagues to ensure the smooth delivery of the service.This role does not require the post holder to provide formal clinical supervision. Formal supervision responsibilities remain with the Clinical Lead/Clinical Supervisor.Key Responsibilities:Clinical LeadershipSupport counsellors managing complex clinical presentations.Promote safe, evidence-based practice.Facilitate reflective practice and team learning.Support newly appointed counsellors.Quality & GovernanceComplete clinical audits.Monitor clinical records and documentation standards.Support incident reviews and learning.Assist with quality improvement initiatives.Contribute to governance meetings.SafeguardingProvide safeguarding advice and support.Escalate concerns appropriately.Promote safe clinical practice.Service DeliveryWork closely with Operations and Triage.Support waiting list management.Monitor capacity and demand.Assist with mobilisation and service improvements.Partnership WorkingBuild positive relationships with partner organisations.Promote consistent clinical standards.Support collaborative working across providers.Essential CriteriaAccredited BACP, UKCP or equivalent practitioner.Significant post-qualification counselling experience.Experience leading or supporting counselling teams.Excellent safeguarding knowledge.Experience auditing or improving clinical quality.Strong communication and leadership skills.DesirablePrevious management experience.Experience within NHS or commissioned services.Knowledge of ICB reporting requirements.Clinical governance experience.Supervision qualification (desirable but not essential).How to ApplyPlease send your CV and a cover letter outlining how you meet the person specification to: hr@womensconsortium.org.ukWomen’s Consortium is an equal opportunities employer.
