Apply & track with Apply EdgeJOB SUMMARYThe role is for active Student Pharmacist with graduation date 2029 or 2030.The Student Pharmacist will assist Clinical MTM Pharmacists to support our mission of deliveringsafe, effective, and affordable medication therapy to our target population. The studentPharmacist assists pharmacists in providing outstanding patient care and customer servicethrough targeted medication reviews, intervention follow-up, and scheduling medicationreviews, among other responsibilities. In addition, they will perform technical and clerical dutieswhich do not require the professional clinical judgment of the pharmacist.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESPatient Care:Deliver Targeted Interventions to assess appropriateness of medications, optimize medication therapy, and improve clinical outcomesConduct patient-centered Adherence Monitoring services to help patients identify barriers to adherence and propose solutions to overcome themAssist with managing medication costs through cost-effective interventions which may include, but are not limited to formulary and therapeutic interchanges, pill splitting opportunities, and assessing unnecessary and/or duplicate medication therapiesReceive and respond to incoming patient calls, take appropriate action based on protocols, and use critical thinking skills to escalate calls to appropriate parties when neededAccurately document all discussions with patients and schedule follow-up as neededAccurately update patient demographic, allergy, and medication information in the MTM platform as necessaryObtain correct/updated health care provider contact information.General:Provide exemplary internal and external customer service through prompt, professional, and polite communicationPerform auxiliary functions essential to the efficient operation of the departmentKNOWLEDGE & REQUIREMENTSStrong Telephonic Skills – Ability to speak clearly and communicate fluidly with senior citizens and healthcare professionals alikeExcellent Listening and Interpersonal Skills – Ability to convey warmth and empathy to others while patiently employing active listening techniquesHealthcare Professional-level Communication Skills – Ability to articulate complex information, both verbally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiencesProfessional Demeanor – Consistent demonstration of a professional attitude and behaviorExceptional Interviewing Skills – Ability to probe and question patients to extract information to understand concerns and needsConflict Resolution Skills – Ability to defuse potential customer conflict and respond supportively to patients through use of appropriate tone, questioning, or counselStrong Work Values – Ability to follow all company and departmental processes and proceduresSelf-Management Skills – Self-motivation, organization, and attention to detailKnowledge of the Law – Understanding of basic compliance measures for the CMS programs, and ensure privacy and confidentiality as required by HIPAA, company and department guidelinesComputer/Technology Competency- Proficiency in use of MS Office applications, with strong data entry skills and ability to multitask using multiple databases/applicationsEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSMinimum years of work experience: 1 yearMinimum level of education or education/experience: High School DiplomaRequired:Active pharmacy intern or pharmacy technician license in the state of residence, as requiredActive enrollment in PharmD program (second year preferred)At least 1 year of outpatient pharmacy experience preferredAbility to provide excellent customer service with a can-do attitudeProven ability to work independently in a collaborative environment
