Clinical Program Manager

Position SummaryThe Clinical Program Manager is responsible for the overall coordination and quality of clinical services within the Acute (Inpatient) Treatment Program. This position provides leadership to the clinical team, ensures regulatory and accreditation compliance, oversees treatment planning, and collaborates with multidisciplinary departments to promote safe, effective, and trauma-informed care for residents.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesClinical Oversight• Provides direct supervision to therapists, case managers, and assigned clinical staff.• Ensures timely completion of assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge documentation.• Reviews clinical records for quality, medical necessity, and compliance with facility policy.• Oversees risk assessments, safety planning, and crisis intervention services.• Ensures evidence‑based and trauma‑responsive interventions are utilized.Program Management• Coordinates daily treatment team meetings and clinical staffing.• Monitors program census, admissions, discharges, and length of stay.• Collaborates with Nursing, Psychiatry, BCBA/RBT services, Education, and Milieu departments.• Oversees bed management processes and clinical placement decisions.• Ensures family engagement and community coordination occur consistently.Staff Leadership and Development• Provides clinical supervision, coaching, and performance evaluations.• Develops competency plans and corrective action when needed.• Assists with hiring, onboarding, and training of clinical staff.• Supports scheduling and coverage to maintain program operations.Compliance and Quality Improvement• Ensures adherence to CARF/Joint Commission, CMS, state, and payer standards.• Conducts chart audits and leads performance improvement initiatives.• Maintains HIPAA compliance and ethical practice standards.Collaboration and Communication• Serves as primary clinical liaison to external stakeholders and referral sources.• Communicates with guardians, DFCS, courts, and community providers.• Partners with executive leadership on program development and policy.QualificationsEducation• Master’s degree in social work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.Licensure• Independent licensure required (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Psychologist).• Approved clinical supervisor preferred.Experience• Minimum 3–5 years in residential or inpatient behavioral health.• At least 1 year of supervisory/leadership experience preferred.• Experience with high‑acuity youth or adult populations required.Skills and Competencies• Strong knowledge of DSM‑5 and level‑of‑care criteria• Leadership and team development• Crisis management and de‑escalation• Regulatory documentation expertise• EMR proficiency and organizational skills• Trauma‑informed, culturally responsive practicePhysical and Work Environment• Residential behavioral health setting with potential crisis response• Ability to sit, stand, walk, and use computer for extended periodsKey Performance Indicators• Documentation compliance at or above benchmark• Effective length of stay and discharge outcomes• Staff engagement and retention• Safety and risk reduction metrics• Family and stakeholder satisfactionReports To: Director of Clinical ServicesSupervises: Therapists, Case Managers, Interns, Assigned StaffFLSA Status: Exempt
