Guided by a vision of empowering healthier futures, Cognivus focuses on rigorous, patient-centered, scientifically sound research solutions.Role Description The Clinical Research Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Wahroonga, NSW. This role supports the coordination and implementation of clinical trials, including preparing study materials, assisting with participant screening and enrollment, and maintaining accurate source documents and databases. The Clinical Research Assistant helps collect and process samples, performs basic laboratory tasks as appropriate to each study, and ensures that procedures align with protocol, ethics requirements, and hospital governance. Day-to-day responsibilities include communicating with participants and healthcare providers, scheduling visits, supporting informed consent processes, and assisting with regulatory and administrative documentation. The role works closely with investigators, study coordinators, and the broader research team to ensure smooth study operations and high-quality data collection.QualificationsPractical experience or competency in performing clinical procedures, including recording vital signs, performing 12-lead ECGs, and conducting blood collection (venepuncture), is highly desirable.Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities to interact effectively with participants, research staff, and healthcare providers.Candidates should possess solid Research skills, including data collection, documentation, and adherence to clinical protocols and ethical guidelines.Candidates should possess knowledge of Medical Terminology to accurately understand study protocols, patient records, and clinical documentation.Candidates should possess basic Laboratory Skills relevant to clinical research, such as sample handling, processing, and proper use of equipment, where applicable.Relevant qualifications such as a degree or diploma in health sciences, biomedical science, nursing, or a related field are highly beneficial.Familiarity with Good Clinical Practice (GCP), research ethics, and regulatory requirements is desirable.Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a clinical environment are important.Experience in clinical trials, hospital or research settings, or patient-facing roles is an advantage.
