Cloud Foundation Lead

As Cloud Foundation Lead, you will be responsible for establishing and governing the bank's Azure cloud foundation, ensuring teams can securely consume compliant environments through a self-service platform model. Working closely with Infrastructure, Security, Data & AI, and Engineering teams, you'll help build the cloud platform that enables the entire bank to operate at scale from day one. Responsibilities• Own the Azure tenancy strategy, including management groups, subscription governance, and policy-as-code guardrails. • Lead the design and evolution of cloud landing zones, enabling teams to provision compliant environments through self-service. • Define and manage the cloud identity foundation using Microsoft Entra, workload identities, and privileged access controls. • Oversee hub-and-spoke networking, private endpoints, DNS architecture, and cloud connectivity foundations. • Drive bank-wide FinOps, including cloud cost management, chargeback reporting, optimisation, and governance. • Build and lead the Cloud Foundation team while managing strategic vendor relationships and supporting audits and regulatory reviews. Requirements• 8+ years of experience in cloud platform engineering, cloud foundations, or cloud infrastructure leadership roles. • Deep expertise with Microsoft Azure, including landing zones, Azure Policy, management groups, Microsoft Entra, and cloud networking. • Strong experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and managing reusable module libraries at scale. • Experience establishing FinOps practices and cloud cost governance across enterprise environments. • Experience operating within regulated environments, ideally banking or financial services. • Familiarity with cloud-native platforms, Kubernetes, observability, and AI-assisted engineering practices.
