Position: CNC and Manual MachinistJob Type: Full-timeSchedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PMWork Location: In person – SE Calgary, ABWork Eligibility: A Canadian citizen or permanent resident authorized to work in Canada About Renegade Mechanical Solutions Inc.Renegade Mechanical Solutions is a Calgary-based industrial repair and manufacturing company specializing in hydraulic cylinders, machining, and custom mechanical solutions.Our capabilities include hydraulic cylinder repair and manufacturing, manual and CNC machining, reverse engineering, waterjet cutting, welding and fabrication, and mechanical repair. We are continuing to expand our machining and manufacturing capabilities and are looking for an experienced Machinist to join our growing team.Position SummaryAs a machinist you will be responsible for setting up and operating manual and/or CNC machine tools to manufacture, repair, and modify hydraulic and industrial components.This is a repair and job-shop environment, not repetitive production work. The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently on a variety of projects, from repair and reverse engineering to one-off components, prototypes, and new manufacturing.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and other conventional machine toolsWork from engineering drawings, sketches, specifications, samples, and existing componentsReverse engineer components where drawings or specifications are unavailableSelect appropriate tooling, materials, feeds, speeds, setups, and machining processesPerform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, indicators, and other inspection equipmentMaintain required dimensional tolerances and surface finishesAssist with prototypes, one-off components, repair work, and small production runsSupport CNC machining, waterjet cutting, fitting, fabrication, and mechanical assembly when requiredAssist with fixture design, tooling selection, process development, and shop improvementsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentQualifications Required:Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents who are legally authorized to work in CanadaJourneyman Machinist certification or a minimum of 5 years of equivalent machining experienceStrong experience operating manual lathes and milling machinesAbility to independently plan, set up, and complete machining jobsStrong understanding of machining principles, cutting tools, materials, feeds, speeds, fits, and tolerancesAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and mechanical printsExperience working to tight tolerances and using precision measuring equipmentStrong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilityAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAdditional Assets:Experience in repair machining, custom manufacturing, or job-shop environmentsHydraulic cylinder repair or manufacturing experienceHaas CNC mill or lathe experienceCNC programming, conversational programming, or CAM experienceReverse engineering experienceWelding and fabrication experienceWaterjet cutting experienceExperience manufacturing tooling, fixtures, jigs, or prototypesLeadership, supervisory, or shop management experienceWhat We OfferCompetitive compensation based on experienceHealth benefits after 90 days of employmentDiverse and challenging work with minimal repetitive productionExposure to a wide variety of jobsOpportunity to work on a wide variety of heavy equipment and industrial componentsA small, experienced, and team-oriented work environmentOpportunity to contribute to new machining and manufacturing processesLong-term growth and leadership opportunities as the company expandsApplication & Hiring ProcessSend resume and references to neil@renegademech.comSuccessful candidates will be required to complete a practical machining competency assessment as part of the interview process.Employment will also be subject to satisfactory reference checks.
