Apply & track with Apply EdgeManufacturing Operations CoordinatorFXT is a vertically integrated manufacturer that combines precision CNC machining, elastomer molding, welding and fabrication across a two-building campus in Cypress, Texas. We invest in multi-axis turning and milling, sub-spindle machining, collaborative robotic machine tending, advanced inspection, and AI-enabled production systems. We need a hands-on CNC Lead Machinist & floor leader who will keep jobs lined out, diagnose issues, train operators, and take overall ownership of daily CNC department performance. You will balance your own machining with keeping the entire floor productive, organized, and accountable for quality and delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesAssign machines and operators to agreed priorities. Prepare upcoming jobs with identified material, current drawings, approved programs, tooling, workholding, and inspection requirements.Set up and run CNC lathes and mills, handle demanding setups, and support new-job prove-out.Monitor part counts, setup progress, and cycle times. Address idle machines and stalled jobs; communicate constraints and recovery plans early.Troubleshoot tool wear, chatter, chip control, offsets, dimensional variation, workholding, and alarms. Coordinate programming or maintenance support when needed.Train operators in setups, offsets, inspection, and safe operation. Verify readiness for independent work and address performance gaps directly and respectfully.Enforce first-piece and in-process checks, material traceability, and required approval for program or process changes. Stop production when quality or safety is in doubt.Keep accurate production records, capture proven setup improvements, support robotic and sub-spindle production, and maintain department organization and routine machine care.QualificationsExtensive hands-on CNC experience; eight or more years preferred. Proven ability to lead machinists or operators and take responsibility for results.Strong turning, milling, setup, tooling, feeds and speeds, and G-code troubleshooting skills. Confident reading drawings and GD&T and using precision measuring tools.Experience machining demanding alloys. Haas, Doosan, live tooling, Y-axis, sub-spindle, and robotic machine-tending experience are valued. Fusion 360 or comparable CAM experience is helpful.Calm problem-solving, clear communication, and reliable follow-through. Comfortable with digital production records and willing to learn automation and practical AI tools.Documentation and Administrative ExecutionScan, name, organize, file, and retrieve work orders, travelers, purchase orders, packing slips, material certifications, and outside-processing records.Maintain accurate electronic and physical production files.Help ensure received material is properly identified, documented, and traceable.Assist with consignment-material usage, replenishment, and monthly records.Work with accounting to resolve purchase-order, receiving, pricing, quantity, and invoice discrepancies.Help standardize recurring processes and checklists so important tasks do not depend on memory.What We OfferCompetitive compensation based on capability, health and dental insurance, paid time off, and opportunities to grow.
