The CNC Machinist will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, and training on any automated equipment and machine tools. This position works closely with Engineering and Production to produce tooling, prototype components, and various Stäubli ECS products.Reports to:Manufacturing ManagerResponsibilities and Objectives:Set up and program CNC mill, lathe, and screw machine for prototypes, fixtures, or productionWork with quoting to estimate labor and material costs for new machining jobsUse SAP ERP to maintain inventory of all material used in the shopSupervise all personnel working within the machine shopMaintain all shop equipment and coordinate 3rd party maintenance schedulesAssist Manufacturing Engineer with design and building of fixtures or equipment for productionPerform finished good inspections as requiredPerform maintenance and repairs on all machinery within the automation areaTrain operators and other personnel on equipment or machinery in the machine shop/ automation areaTroubleshoot the cause of manufacturing defects and resolve issuesMonitor production of automated equipment, working with vendors to solve issues or make improvementsMaintain an organized and safe work environment including proper waste disposalPerforms other duties as assigned by managerAdheres to all safety, quality, and environmental standardsQualificationsProficiently setup and program CNC mills, lathes, and screw machinesRead and understand engineering drawingsUnderstand GD&T on machined component printsBe familiar with advanced manufacturing methods and techniques2+ years of experience working in a machine shop2+ years CNC equipment experience2+ years CAM/CAD experience; Inventor a plusExperience with inspection tools including calipers, bore gage, micrometer, and gage pinsBasic mechanical/electrical experienceExperience with hazardous material a plusAdditional InformationLift up to 50 lbs. regularly and stand for extended periods of timeMust be able to lift, push, pull, and carry objectsPeriods sitting at a desk and working on a computerDexterity and accuracy as needed to operate equipmentStäubli Corporation is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.
