To implement and coordinate a comprehensive Employee Health, Safety and Environmental System for the employees of VallourecThe Senior CNC Machinist is expected to demonstrate proven technical competence, consistent performance, and the ability to support junior machinists and daily shopfloor coordination when needed.MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:Safety & QualityStrict compliance with local regulations and HOST policies, to be considered as minimum requirement.Maintain a strong safety mindset, strictly follow all HSE procedures, and work to ensure that all injuries are preventable.Demonstrate safe handling of tooling, raw materials, lifting equipment, and machine controls.Promote, report and act on all events near-miss, unsafe acts/unsafe conditions and any actual injuries that may occur.Ensure product quality by following approved standards, work instructions, and in-process inspection requirements.Stop work and escalate immediately if any unsafe condition or quality risk is identified.Machine OperationsDemonstrated ability to independently set up and operate all types of manual and CNC machines (e.g., Mazak, Mori Seiki).Proven ability to read, interpret, and verify CNC programs; perform required mathematical calculations for tool paths, offsets, and cutting angles.Proficient in adjusting CNC programs for basic process like blanking (based on actual material dimension)Confirmed proficiency in setting up complex parts and handling various materials, including carbon steel and chrome materials.Ability to select the correct tools, inserts, and fixtures for each job and ensure safe and effective utilisation.Ability to achieve the required threading quality and handle first article inspection across all products and material grades.Lead troubleshooting of technical machining issues to minimize downtime.Technical InterpretationProven competence in reading and interpreting engineering drawings (dimensions, tolerances, surface finish, notes).Ability to use all gauges and measurement instruments correctly (micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, dial indicators, etc.).Performance & ProductivityConsistent achievement of daily and weekly production targets.Perform and document First Article Inspection (FAI) as required.Maintain strong 5S discipline at the workstation and perform routine machine/tooling maintenance.Team Support & CoordinationAct as a “buddy” for newly joined machinists: train, guide, and share best practices.Support the Cell Leader in daily work allocation during absences or when delegated.Perform other reasonable tasks as assigned by the supervisor/manager.SKILLSTechnical SkillsCNC machine setup and operationCNC program interpretation and tool offset managementPremium Threading technology (VAM TOP® / VAM TOP® HC / VAM TOP® HT / NEW VAM / VAM® 21 / VAM® FJL)Threading technology (API / BTC / EUE)Precision measurement instrumentsMaterial handling (including chrome materials)Behavioural SkillsAttention to detailAutonomy, discipline and consistencyProblem-solving abilitySafety and quality ownershipWillingness to train and support othersEDUCATION, LANGUAGE & EXPERIENCETechnical certificate or Diploma in Mechanical, Precision Engineering, Tool & Die, or equivalent.Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in CNC machining and metal removal operations across various machine types.Required to meet internal qualification standards for Machinist CNC 1 and CNC 2.
