CNC Machinist

CNC Machinist –Midland, TX.Responsible for setting up and operating multi-axis CNC machines and programs to make specified high quality manufactured parts according to customer specifications. Machinists are expected to adhere all safety and quality policies of Drilling Tools International, Inc.Education:High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, additional education or direct, relevant experience.Experience: 5+ year of machining experience preferredFamiliarity of API threadsPrevious QC inspection and tool measurement experience preferredQualifications:·       Valid driver’s license required.·       Proficiency with Okuma Multus B400 Lathe and Okuma Multus 750 Lathe required.·       Proficiency with Okuma MU 500 Mill.·       Proficiency with inspection tools, such as calipers, micrometer.·       Advanced proficiency in G and M code.·       Ability to become a certified Forklift Operator and maintain safely status.·       Proficiency in CAD/CAM Software.Key Responsibilities/ Essential Functions of the Position:·       Operate and program CNC machines (mills, lathes, grinders) to produce high-precision parts and components.·       Lead the setup and calibration of CNC machines, including advanced programming and tool management.·       Interpret and create detailed engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.·       Perform advanced inspections and utilize high-precision measuring instruments to ensure product quality.·       Troubleshoot complex machine issues, implement process improvements, and conduct preventive maintenance.·       Mentor and train junior machinists, providing guidance on machining techniques and best practices.·       Maintain a clean, organized work area and enforce safety standards.·       Empty chip bins using forklift and perform general shop housekeeping, as needed.·       Other duties as assigned
