autonomous clinical AI agents are permitted to do in healthcare environments.Before an AI agent executes an action, the platform evaluates whether that action is authorized based on clinical policies, organizational rules, regulatory requirements, the agent's delegated authority, and patient-specific context.Depending on the decision, the platform can allow, deny, escalate for clinician review, or require additional evidence before execution.Every authorization decision is recorded so that healthcare organizations can reconstruct what an AI agent attempted to do, what context was considered, which rules were applied, and why the action was permitted or prevented.Our goal is to make increasingly autonomous clinical AI deployable without relying on informal or ad-hoc human oversight.The RoleWe are looking for a Clinical AI Co-Founder with strong medical or clinical research credentials and a deep understanding of the European healthcare environment.You will help shape the clinical direction of the company and build the bridge between clinical practice, autonomous AI systems, regulation, and product development.You will work closely with the Founder and technical team to define how authorization, escalation, human intervention, and decision controls should operate inside real clinical workflows.A central part of the role will be ensuring that the platform is grounded in the realities of European healthcare delivery, clinical governance, patient safety, medical-device regulation, and the adoption constraints facing hospitals and health systems.This is a founder-level role with meaningful influence over the company's product strategy, clinical model, partnerships, research direction, market positioning, and long-term direction.The role is based in the Netherlands with a hybrid working model.What You Will Work OnYou will:Translate real clinical workflows, safety requirements, healthcare policies, and European regulatory expectations into requirements for runtime AI authorization.Define where autonomous clinical AI should be permitted to act, where clinician approval is required, and where actions should be restricted or prohibited.Help design clinical authorization policies, escalation pathways, evidence requirements, intervention mechanisms, and boundaries of delegated AI authority.Ensure the platform reflects the operational realities of European hospitals and healthcare systems rather than theoretical governance models.Work with engineering to translate clinical and regulatory requirements into practical product and platform capabilities.Engage clinicians, hospitals, clinical researchers, health-tech companies, compliance teams, and healthcare leaders to validate use cases and product requirements.Identify high-value clinical workflows where autonomous AI agents could operate safely with appropriate runtime controls.Contribute to clinical safety, AI governance, the EU AI Act, MDR and related European regulatory strategy.Help develop relationships with hospitals, universities, research institutions, clinical partners, and health-technology organizations across Europe.Support design-partner relationships, clinical pilots, research collaborations, funding initiatives, partnerships, and early commercial conversations.Represent Giggle AI Innovation in clinical, academic, healthcare AI, regulatory, and research communities.Help shape the company's product roadmap, clinical evidence strategy, market positioning, and long-term strategy as a member of the founding team.Who We Are Looking ForWe are particularly interested in candidates who combine strong medical or clinical research credentials with practical familiarity with European healthcare systems.Priority RequirementsPhD-level medical or clinical expertiseYou hold a PhD in medicine, clinical sciences, medical AI, clinical informatics, biomedical sciences, digital health, or a closely related healthcare discipline.We are particularly interested in candidates whose research or professional work has involved clinical workflows, healthcare technology, AI-enabled clinical decision-making, medical devices, patient safety, or clinical evaluation.European healthcare experienceYou have meaningful experience working within, researching, collaborating with, or deploying technology into European healthcare systems.You understand that European healthcare adoption involves more than technical performance and can navigate considerations such as clinical governance, patient safety, procurement, data protection, medical-device regulation, institutional accountability, and evidence requirements.Experience with hospitals, university medical centres, clinical research institutions, health-tech companies, medical-device companies, or public healthcare organizations in Europe is strongly preferred.Clinical credibilityYou understand how clinical decisions and workflows operate in practice and can challenge assumptions about where AI should and should not be permitted to act.You should be capable of engaging credibly with clinicians, clinical researchers, hospital leadership, regulators, and technical teams.Relevant
