The organization is building a team committed to rigorous journalism and thoughtful public discourse about West Asia.Role Description As a Co-Founder at West Asia Watch, you will play a central role in shaping the platform’s strategic direction, editorial vision, and long-term growth. This full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, involves leading day-to-day operations, including overseeing content planning, coordinating coverage of regional developments, and building partnerships with experts, institutions, and media stakeholders. You will co-develop business and revenue strategies, manage budgets and resources, and support brand positioning and audience growth. Responsibilities include guiding editorial standards, contributing to analytical pieces or commentary when needed, representing the platform at events and forums, and mentoring team members across editorial, research, and outreach functions. You will collaborate closely with other founders and core staff to ensure the platform remains independent, credible, and responsive to developments in West Asia.QualificationsStrong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex geopolitical, economic, and socio-cultural developments in West Asia.Excellent communication skills, including clear written and verbal expression, stakeholder engagement, and public speaking.Experience in sales and partnership development, with the ability to build relationships and support sustainable revenue models.Marketing skills, including audience development, brand positioning, and digital outreach for media or knowledge platforms.Proven research skills, ideally in international relations, regional studies, security, or related fields.Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably in media, think tanks, startups, or content-focused organizations.Familiarity with West Asia’s political, economic, and cultural landscape; regional experience or language skills (e.g., Arabic, Persian, Turkish) is an advantage.Bachelor’s or master’s degree in relevant disciplines such as International Relations, Political Science, Journalism, Middle Eastern Studies, or Business; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
