CTO, Co-FounderAbout debateee.comI am building debateee.com, a platform made specifically for live debating.We already have an MVP up and running. I am now looking for a CTO and Co-Founder to take ownership of the technical side of the company and help turn the MVP into a scalable product.This is a co-founder opportunity, not a traditional employment role. You would have significant control over the technology, engineering decisions, and technical direction of debateee.com.The RoleAs CTO, you would own the technology behind debateee.com.You would work closely with me to turn product ideas and user feedback into reliable, scalable features. You would also help determine what we build, how we build it, and what technical decisions we need to make as the company grows.ResponsibilitiesTake ownership of the existing debateee.com codebase.Maintain and improve the current MVP.Build and ship new product features.Design and improve the platform’s technical architecture.Make decisions around infrastructure, scalability, security, and performance.Identify and fix technical issues.Establish strong engineering practices and development workflows.Work closely with the Head of Product and founder to translate product requirements into technical solutions.Evaluate new technologies and tools where they provide meaningful value.Eventually build and lead the engineering team as debateee.com grows.What I’m Looking ForStrong full-stack development experience.Ability to take ownership of an existing codebase.Strong understanding of modern web application architecture.Ability to build quickly without sacrificing important engineering fundamentals.Strong problem-solving ability.Comfortable working independently in an early-stage startup.Strong product sense is a major advantage.Genuine interest in entrepreneurship and building a company.Willingness to take responsibility for technical decisions and outcomes.You do not need to know every technology currently used by debateee.com.
