Company Description MatchFund is an AI-powered sponsorship platform that helps grassroots, non-league, and semi-professional sports clubs find, win, and retain more sponsors. Instead of relying on volunteers, cold outreach, and manual prospecting, clubs set a sponsorship target and MatchFund builds and manages the commercial pipeline to reach it. The platform analyses each club’s audience and sponsorship inventory, identifies high-fit businesses and decision-makers, and creates personalised outreach and follow-up flows through to activation, reporting, and renewal. Clubs can choose different levels of automation, from copilot assistance to fully automated sponsorship management. Built by people with direct experience of fundraising for sponsorship in grassroots and semi-professional sport, MatchFund gives clubs professional commercial capability without needing a dedicated commercial team.Role Description The Co-Founder CTO will lead the technical vision, architecture, and delivery of MatchFund’s AI-powered sponsorship platform in a full-time remote role. This role involves designing and evolving the core product, overseeing end-to-end software development, and ensuring the platform is scalable, secure, and reliable. The Co-Founder CTO collaborates closely with other founders on product strategy, prioritisation, and go-to-market plans, translating business needs into technical roadmaps and milestones. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing, selecting and implementing appropriate technologies, and setting best practices for development, testing, deployment, and observability. As the company scales, this will include hiring and managing a dedicated engineering team. The role also includes engaging with users to understand their challenges, iterating rapidly on features, and contributing to fundraising, investor discussions, and long-term company direction.Qualifications and Experience* Strong analytical skills to design scalable architectures, interpret product and user data, and make evidence-based technical decisions.* Excellent communication skills for collaborating with co-founders, engineers, users, and investors, and for translating complex technical concepts into clear language.* Exposure to or aptitude for sales, including supporting technical sales conversations, demos, and sponsor-facing solutions as the product evolves.* Understanding of marketing, particularly in building products that enable outreach, personalisation, and pipeline growth for sports clubs.* Proficiency in research, including evaluating new technologies, exploring AI/ML approaches, and staying current with best practices in SaaS and data privacy.* Prior experience as a senior engineer, architect, or CTO in a startup or high-growth environment, ideally with B2B SaaS or AI-driven products.* Hands-on expertise with modern web technologies, cloud infrastructure, AI, APIs, and data pipelines; ability to ship production-quality code when needed.* Previous SaaS Startup Experience as a Founder/Co-Founder is desirable but not essential.The Opportunity* Join a high-potential startup with a clear mission and goal.* Equity - Founder-level equity* Salary post-investment – we're currently raising a £400K pre-seed round. * Work alongside a committed, capable, and seasoned Founding Team.* Shape product strategy, technical vision, and company direction as Co-Founder & CTO.* Full-time commitment, requiring resilience, optimism, and a founder’s mindset.* Must have the right to work in the UK.
