Co-Founder, Engineering & AI

Mongooz is looking for a Technical Co-Founder & CTO to build Mongooz from the ground up.This is a deeply hands-on role. You will code, architect, ship, debug and continuously improve the product yourself - not just manage engineers.You should be able to take a product idea, break it into the right technical approach, and turn it into a reliable production feature. As we grow, you’ll build and lead the engineering team. For now, we need a builder first, manager later.What you will own:

• Building Mongooz from the ground up
• Writing production code across the core platform
• Designing product and system architecture
• Candidate search, filters, ranking and matching
• Retrieval and recommendation systems
• Large-scale structured and unstructured talent data
• Backend systems, APIs and data pipelines
• AI/LLM workflows, RAG and agentic systems
• Product performance, reliability and scalability
• Engineering standards and technical decision-making
• Hiring and developing the engineering team over timeWhat we are looking for:
• 6–12 years of strong software engineering experience
• Deep backend and systems engineering fundamentals
• Strong hands-on coding ability
• Experience building products from scratch
• Experience with search, data-intensive or recommendation products
• Strong understanding of databases, indexing, query systems and APIs
• Experience with Python, Postgres, Elasticsearch/OpenSearch or similar technologies
• Practical experience with LLMs, RAG, embeddings and modern AI systems
• Experience working in a 0→1 or early-stage startup environment
• The ability to move quickly without creating fragile engineering foundations
• Previous experience as a founder, founding engineer or early technical employee would be highly relevant.What you’re joining
