قدّم وتابع مع أبلاي إيدجCompany DescriptionThe thesis: law runs on judgment under uncertainty. What will this judge do with this motion. How will a regulator read this filing. What will opposing counsel actually accept. Today that judgment is priced by the hour and delivered as intuition, backed by a partner's memory of forty similar matters. It is expensive, unevenly distributed, and almost never tested before the decision is made. We think the interesting work in legal AI is not summarizing documents faster. It is letting a legal team run the matter before they live through it, and see the distribution of outcomes rather than one senior person's guess.Role DescriptionThe Cofounder, Legal AI is a full time onsite founding role in Bellevue, WA. This is a zero to one seat. There is no product yet, no roadmap to inherit, and no team to manage on day one. You will help pick the wedge, write the first meaningful code, and take this from a thesis to something a firm or a general counsel will sign for.Day to day this looks like building the core system, which could mean agentic workflows over case law and deal documents, outcome modeling, retrieval and citation infrastructure, or the evaluation harness that proves the thing is right often enough to be trusted. It also means sitting in front of Am Law innovation leads, practice group partners, and in house legal teams from the very first week, running discovery, surviving security and procurement review, and owning a real share of the go to market motion. Legal buyers are slow, skeptical, and enormously loyal once you are in. You need the patience for the first part to earn the second. Some weeks are entirely an eval pipeline. Others are three partner calls and a redline. We are a generalist company by design and this role has the widest surface area in it. You get the house's capital, network, and cohort behind you, and founder level equity with the risk and ownership that implies.QualificationsShips production code. You have built and maintained real systems in ML, retrieval, agentic workflows, or applied AI infrastructure, and you can still do it yourself rather than delegating it.Comfortable in a room with partners and general counsel. You can run discovery with a practice group lead, present to a firm's innovation committee, and take hard questions about accuracy without hiding behind a deck.Real understanding of how legal work is bought and paid for. Privilege and confidentiality constraints, security review, procurement cycles, and the uncomfortable fact that the billable hour makes efficiency a hard sell to some of your buyers.Rigor about correctness. In this market a fabricated citation is not a bad demo, it is sanctions and a headline. You should have opinions about evaluation, grounding, and how you prove a system is right before a customer stakes a matter on it.Direct experience with enterprise sales, customer discovery, or GTM. You are willing to carry a number, not just support someone who does.Proven ability to operate at the earliest stage of a company: high ambiguity, fast iteration, no clean role boundaries, and no one to hand work to.A JD, time in practice, or legal operations experience is a strong plus, though not required if you have sold into or built for legal before.Degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. We care far more about what you have built than where you studied.
