Coastal Engineer

About the CompanySweco is a large European engineering consultancy with strong operations in Denmark and the Nordic countries.About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced Coastal Engineer to join our growing team in Denmark. You will work on a variety of coastal, offshore, and flood protection projects, supporting clients from both the public and private sectors. The role involves coastal design, hydrodynamic analysis, project planning, and technical documentation.8+ years of relevant experience in Coastal and/or Offshore Engineering. Strong understanding of coastal protection and hydrodynamic processes. Experience delivering technical studies, calculations, and design reports.ResponsibilitiesPerform hydrodynamic calculations and coastal engineering design.Conduct MetOcean studies and coastal assessments.Prepare technical documentation and design reports.Support project planning, execution, and quality assurance activities.Develop and improve calculation and planning tools within the department.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on local and international projects.Must have delivered Danish Projects.QualificationsProficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. Strong programming skills in Python. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Experience preparing technical reports and project documentation.Required Skills Experience with one or more of the following tools:MIKE 21, Telemac, Delft3D, or similar hydrodynamic modelling softwareScalgo HEC-RAS or similar rainfall-runoff modelling softwareBentley MicroStationAutodesk AutoCADPreferred SkillsNumerical modelling of waves, hydrodynamics, and sediment transportFlood simulations and sediment spill modellingCFD modellingOffshore wind and due diligence studiesSea ice assessmentsDesign of seawalls, sluices, and pumping systemsWork on complex and high-profile coastal engineering projects.
