The ideal candidate will oversee coding policies, code review processes, secure development practices, engineering quality metrics, developer enablement, and cross-functional collaboration while ensuring software products are maintainable, scalable, secure, and aligned with organizational engineering standards.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement enterprise coding standards, software engineering governance frameworks, and development best practices aligned with organizational objectives.Establish coding guidelines, architecture principles, naming conventions, documentation standards, secure coding practices, and software quality policies across multiple technology stacks.Collaborate with Software Engineering, Enterprise Architecture, DevOps, Cybersecurity, Quality Assurance, Product Management, Platform Engineering, Data & AI, Information Technology, and Executive Leadership to drive engineering excellence.Lead enterprise code review programmes, static code analysis initiatives, peer review processes, technical debt reduction strategies, and software quality improvement initiatives.Define software development lifecycle (SDLC) standards, DevSecOps practices, branching strategies, release governance, version control policies, and CI/CD quality gates.Oversee implementation of secure coding standards, vulnerability management practices, dependency governance, open-source software compliance, and application security controls.Develop engineering playbooks, reusable coding frameworks, development templates, coding checklists, and technical documentation standards.Monitor compliance with coding standards across software projects through code audits, automated quality checks, engineering assessments, and technical governance reviews.Evaluate emerging software engineering methodologies, programming languages, AI-assisted development tools, low-code platforms, and software quality technologies to drive continuous improvement.Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) including code quality scores, technical debt, code review completion rates, defect density, security vulnerabilities, deployment success rate, developer productivity, code coverage, and engineering compliance.Conduct software quality audits, architecture reviews, coding compliance assessments, engineering maturity evaluations, risk analyses, and continuous improvement initiatives.Ensure compliance with secure software development standards, ISO 27001, OWASP Secure Coding Practices, NIST Secure Software Development Framework (SSDF), organizational engineering policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.Manage software quality budgets, engineering tools, code quality platforms, developer enablement programmes, technical governance initiatives, and strategic engineering improvement projects.Drive digital transformation through artificial intelligence (AI)-powered code analysis, automated code review, intelligent software testing, developer productivity analytics, workflow automation, and business intelligence solutions.Utilize GitHub Enterprise, GitLab, Bitbucket, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Veracode, Snyk, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, Docker, Kubernetes, Microsoft 365, Power BI, Tableau, and software engineering management platforms to optimize development quality and generate actionable insights.Prepare executive dashboards, engineering quality reports, code compliance assessments, technical governance reviews, software risk analyses, engineering performance metrics, and strategic recommendations for senior leadership.Lead, mentor, and develop software architects, senior developers, DevOps engineers, quality engineers, engineering leads, and multidisciplinary technology teams while fostering a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Administration (MBA), Information Technology, Enterprise Architecture, or a related discipline is highly advantageous.Professional certifications such as Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP), AWS Certified Developer, Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate, TOGAF, Scrum Master, Project Management Professional (PMP), or equivalent are preferred.Minimum 5 years of experience in software engineering, software architecture, application development, DevOps, software quality assurance, or related roles.At least 2 years of experience managing software engineering teams, technical governance programmes, code quality initiatives, or software development standards preferred.Strong understanding of software engineering principles, coding standards, software architecture, secure coding, DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, application security, software testing, version control, and software quality management.Experience with GitHub Enterprise, GitLab, Bitbucket, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Veracode, Snyk, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, Docker, Kubernetes, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, Tableau, and software development lifecycle management platforms.Familiarity with AI-powered coding assistants, automated code review tools, intelligent software testing, static and dynamic application security testing (SAST/DAST), developer experience platforms, and advanced engineering analytics is highly advantageous.Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, analytical thinking, technical governance, project management, organizational, coaching, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple engineering quality initiatives while balancing software quality, security, scalability, performance, compliance, budgets, timelines, and business priorities.Ability to work effectively in a remote environment with distributed software engineering teams, architects, product managers, security specialists, executives, technology vendors, and global stakeholders, with
